I'm planning my 2nd solo trip to WDW for 9/19-9/29 (if i can get my deposit together in time for free dining!) and last year I dined dinner @ Cindy's castle and wasn't really impressed and didn't think it was worth 2 dining credits. What restaurants are really WORTH 2 dining credits as a solo diner?

Any input is appreciated!

You're right! Cinderella's Castle is defintely NOT worth 2 credits.

Try the HOOP DEE DOO!
You can't go wrong with dinner AND a show!!! It's great fun!

Alright kids - another dining question...2 credits

Yachtman's steakhouse (never been) or
Artist Point (never been)

OR

Hoop Dee Doo (been there before)
Spirit of Aloha (haven't been in 15 years)

I'm debating the 2-credit restaurants and I'm down to the above 4

In my opinion the only 2 credit restaurants that are worth it are Californina Grill and Hollywood Brown Derby. However, I have not done Hoop Dee Doo... waiting till 08 when I have my niece with me.

Artist Pointe was excellent when we went back in 2001.

I hear Yachtman's is not worth 2 credits, better off with Le Cellier

Hoop-Dee-Doo we did on the DDP back in 2005, was fun. I know they changed seating now into categories

Spirit of Aloha I haven't seen since about 1995, it was good, food was just ok though at that time, not sure how it is now.

I agree, Cinderella's castle was not really good. I would only go there again when I have kids.

Hoop Dee Doo is great.

Artist point is great.

Ok, put it this way... artist point is so good, I even got a take out box for a tiny piece of meat left and their onions (with some type of GOOD glaze) I sat in the hotel room and ate the onions, and I don't even like onions. That's how good they were. lol. So you should really eat there and get the buffalo.

Artists Point and Yachtsmans are both very good..have gone many times. I do feel the quality and service at Yachtsmans is superior to LeCellier. It is more upscale and quieter. Much more relaxed and better wine list. Brighter environment and tables are much farther apart than in Canada (don't get me wrong I love Canada as well) but if you want a special evening I think all in all it's a different atmosphere at an upscale resort restaurant

I'd probably opt for the luau or HDD, in that order (since I've never done the luau). It's a to each his/her own thing, but when I eat out solo, I usually bring a book or my mp3 player or something to keep entertained. FOr the two credits, Disney's providing the entertainment (not to mention some beer/wine/sangria options, which I think would be an extra charge at Cali Grill or Atist Point even with the 2 credits. If you wouldn't opt to have beer or wine while out, it's a moot point, naturally).

If you're not a "meat person" DO NOT goto yachtsmans steakhouse!

There's a big window room thingy where they cut and cleave steaks right by the entrance, and if you're unluckey you can even smell the meat/blood. It's rather gross for anyone who's not big into meat eating.

Oh, and answering the question, I feel that very few places are woth 2 dining credits. Well, really none. But if you want to do it I'd probably think Artist Point would be the most enjoyable. Hoop dee doo is fun, but not really "worth" the price of the 2 dining credits because of the somewhat lame food served. Fried chicken, potatos - essentially the stuff that comes from KFC in the super-mega-ultra family meal.

That's very true. It's def two credits for the fun show, rather than quality of food.

Wish WE had a KFC that served unlimited quantities of BBQ Ribs, Strawberry Shortcake, and Sangria!

Come to think of it, our KFC doesn't put on a dinner show for us either.....

Le Cellier is "worth" 2 credits but it only costs you one.

Sci-fi diner costs you one credit but is only "worth" 1/2 and that's for the atmosphere.

None of them. Honestly.

Since it's *free* dining, though, I'd probably feel comfortable using two credits at the Brown Derby, but if I was paying for it not a single place would get two credits. I'd rather pay OOP for the Fantasmic! package at Brown Derby instead.

Good luck! And remember not to use credits at places like Sci-Fi or the Plaza - it's much more economical to pay OOP.

You may like the Flying Fish cafe. It's worth 2 credits and has counter seating .I did ate at Spoodle's one time solo and it was great, and that was 1 TS credit.

2 credits

California Grille is worth 2-credits!
If LeCellier is only one credit, I would make more than one reservation for LeCellier.
Hoop Dee Do is more about quantity as opposed to quality. Its the show that people like. I actually got sick, as I do with most buffet's, the food is not that hot. Have Fun!!
