Soft opening for Expedition Everest rumor

Please keep in mind that I consider this a rumor, since I have no hard evidence...YET.

I was told that Disney is thinking of doing a soft opening for Expedition Everest in Nov. No dates, but I do think this is something we should all watch for.

Yes they are ahead of schedule that is the reason that I was told why they are thinking of doing this.

Ive head this rumor for several months, dating back to the hurricanes. I think theyre still ahead of schedule but i have nothingto base that on other than my own observations.

Anything is possible, since they are working very fast, and November is still a ways away. If they were going to soft open it for previews, I'm thinking all the buildings in the surrounding area need to be done too, not just the ride.

Oh how fun! Thanks for the update Pam! I really hope that's true b/c we'll be visiting in Nov this year (I think, maybe Dec - not sure yet) What an awsome suprise that would be... and this will be the first time in my life that I'll have waited almost a year to go back (last trip Dec. '04) We usually go in May and then sometime in the fall - but being preggers means I can't ride much - so we're waiting until November... so that would be an awsome suprise!

I'm thinking the buildings will be done before the mountain itself, just seems like a lot less work to be done.

When the attraction was announced, dates of late 2005/early 2006 were given as opening dates. I think with a project of this magnitude, it is relatively difficult to give a precise date. I wouldnt be surprised to see it go either way.

This would be good if it were to happen....but I don't know....we won't have that much to lean on for now except for the construction of the mountain...I'm saying that by July, it should be pretty ahead in construction, and depending on how it looks then, we might guess when it might open. The latest that we can guess is end of April beginning of May, and no later than mid-August.

That would be great. I am planning a mid July trip, and then I am going back in mid Nov. I guess when I am there in July I'll get to see how close they are to being finished.

Ya know - When I saw the title of this thread I though, "Okay here's gonna be another rumor pulled out of thin air with no validity. Someone wanting to pretend they have connections that the rest of us don't."

And then I found it was posted by Pam, who DOES have connections the rest of us don't (well, some of us at least). So maybe it will turn out to be accurate.
