People in NC just call it "Coke." I love it when I'm in a restuarant that serves Pepsi:

"Hey, can I have Coke?"
"No, but we have Pepsi!"
"Fine then, I'll take a Coke."

And the saddest part is that North Carolina is the birthplace of Pepsi.

Actually your crazy grandmother is not far off,they never used cocain in coke but they both use the same plant.
