Soarin

Has there been any discussion of changing the simulation of Soarin to Florida? I think flying over the swamps would be really cool. I also wish it would stay on one scene longer than it does. Just about the time I am getting into it, the scenery changes. The golf ball is one of my favorites.

This has been discussed many times...I don't think there is nearly enough scenery in Florida to host a complete Soarin experience. Beach, swamps, everglades...then what? There are no mountains and very few landmarks. California has such varied terrain that it is perfect for the attraction. If and when they make a new ride film, which would probably not happen for several years, I would expect either a Soarin over America, or more likely, Soarin over the World to tie it in with Epcot's World Showcase. I think they will definitely create a new ride film at some point, but to they'd have to get permission from different countries to fly in their airspace and film. That kind of clearance probably takes a long time to procure.

Interesting idea. I haven't heard anything like that, but it could be neat. Or if they did "Soarin' America" or "Soarin' World" where they picked the most awesome places. That would be neat. I love Soarin' though. Great ride!

Soarin over FL would be boring. I agree that CA is so diverse that FL is no match. Making that film was a huge undertaking and to get the various permissions that they did took a long time, imagine what it was like to deal with the US Navy to be able to fly over the aircraft carrier and lining up the blue angels, it was no easy matter and all the other places.

How bout Soarin' over the land?

Soarin' is kinda in The Land pavilion and all. So I suppose it would make some sense.

Florida could be possible, yeah florida is mostly beaches, swamps and the everglades, but there is also St. Augistine(sp?), Kennedy Space Center, and of course Disney, and maybe they can send guest through a hurricane? Who knows... There isn't as many landmarks as California but there's possibilities.

I don't think disney wants to associate themselves with hurricanes, could be bad for the image.

I disagree about lack of sites in Florida. The Keys, Kennedy Space Center, Disney World, Jacksonville, The Everglades, Tampa Bay not to mention all the retirement homes!:snore:

I think they should do something like Soarin Over the World, or even America. Why does it have to be one state? There's so much great things to see in the world.

DCA's soarin was soarin over California because it fit the theme of that park. it doesn't fit the theme of Epcot however. Neither would soarin over Florida. I'm sure we'll see a new film someday and I hope that it's soarin over the world.

I thought I heard a rumor about Disney potentially making a "world" Soarin' for WDW...

Where did I hear that from...:veryconfu Now I have to search...

I personally think that Soarin' over America would be cool to view during the ride, however, make the ride longer!!!!!

"...Thanks for Soarin' with us."

I absolutely love the ride Soarin. I rode it for the first time in November. My question is about the last scene from Disneyland. In November the last scene was a Christmas scene and I was wondering if anyone that has ridden Soarin lately can tell me if they changed the scene? I figured since it was close to Christmas maybe that's why they had that. Thanks so much.
