It could easilly be built without being difficult due to the large hill that is right in front of the land. Remember, you walk up this hill and enter the Land on it's second floor. You then go down stairs to the location of Food Rocks, which is rumored to be where you enter the soarin attraction. So the ride building for soarin could be easilly hid behind that same hill that you walk up to enter the land. It would then be hidden the same way that all of the land's greenhouses and all the backstage buildings are hidden.

See, I told you it had been awhile since I've been there. I'd forgotten about walking up the hill.

BTW, I like ISTCNavigator's idea of having the entrance outside and exiting into the inevitable gift shop inside The Land. If they have the room to do it, that is.

Im sorry but i find it hard to believe that Soarin' would be placed between the Land and Imagination. A better place would be between The Land and The Living Seas.

Inside the The Land Pavillion, theres a lot of empty space around the circle of life theater. It would be overcrowding the area, having it in the Food rocks section, because you have the carts and resturant there.

We'll see...WDWMagic main site says this:

22 August 2003: Construction about to begin!

Big news here.. Imagineering have just installed project trailers in between The Land and Imagination, which looks a good indication that construction is about to begin.

All indications I've heard place Soarin' between Imagination and The Land. I've been wondering about space limitations around Food Rocks and Garden Grill. I really like the Garden Grill. I hope they leave it alone.

You can't really see the RNRC building from in front the attraction so you never know.......the other times the Imagineers celverly hid it by calling it Stage some number.

I was back there during my Recent UnDiscovered FW tour. There is plenty of space back there, all that is back there is a giant parking lot...

HOWEVER I did notice that 2 Corner rooms at the Beach Club Villas Overlooked the backstage area of Epcot, does anyone know what Rooms they are? They would provide for some perfect construction shots...

I just can't see them fitting both a queue and a post-show/gift shop into the Food Rocks area...seems to me you'd have to do one or the other, and I would think Disney would want to plug this $100 million attraction as stand-alone, with a flashy entrance like you see at Cali Adventure--we don't want the queues to be jamming up The Land...could you imagine the crowds that would be crammed into the already-crowded basement level of The Land?

LOL I never see crowds in the Land, the Only reasons I actually go in there were for the AP Lounge a couple of years ago, and the UnDiscFW Tour for our tour and Lunch break

There is more useable space between land and imag then there is between land and seas. Also, putting it on the right side of land would cause a lot of backstage trafficking problems.

I have to agree with ISTCNavigator57, if Disney is spending millions on this attraction, why cram it between the Land's greenhouses and parkig lot. I saw aerial photos of Soarin' and the photos of The Land and the it seems like theres more space between the living seas.

Just to set the record straight:
The ride is going between Land and Imagination.

I was back there this week and saw the WDI trailers, but saw no indication that work will really get started all that soon.

Funny thing is, nobody I talked to (and they should know) would say with certainty if the ride would be stand-alone or part of the Land. I got both answers all day long, along with a lot of grins and winks. Frustrating. Nothing from the state of things in that backstage area tipped me off either.

For my money, I'm gonna go with stand-alone, at least for now.

Well on my Undiscovered Future World tour I asked our tour guide about all this. there is tons of room for it. I was out back where the ride will go (if/when built)(next to the green houses that you go through on Living With the Land). It would go where they curentally stage the magic music days marching bands for epcot. i have a few photos of this area and when my other computer gets re connected to teh net, i will post them for you to see the proposed area.

The other area an entrance could be built is where the gift shop is. The doors at the end lead out to that area of the back stage and has a walk way around to the back of the Land Pavilion.

You are all wrong. It's not a part of the land or a part of Epcot at all. This is project gemini. Soarin' will be it's own park complete with monorail station and a ladder

alright, i admit it, Sam is right!

But he forgot this: Mission Space is just a facde, its really the service entrance to Test Track and you are riding in the test track "Track service vehicles"

This just in!!!

Soarin' is now part of the UK pavillion at epcot. They are gonna build it in the middle of the lagoon and get you to the ride by boat using the Tom Sawyer Island boats.

You're semi-correct about Mission: Space. You're taken into the queue and threatened to report to guests that EPCOT has a brand new Space ride...and then you exit.

:lookaroun :p

The Land was packed when I was there, but whatever...I still see this as being a stand-alone attraction exiting into The Land. That being the case, Food Rocks wouldn't really need to close for awhile...you get the actual attraction near completion and then worry about theming the queue and postshow...

There was rumor awhile ago that a whole new paviliion was to go between the sea and land pavillions. That would be great. A "sky" pavillion. Sorry for my overuse of the word pavilion.

At least you spelled pavilion three different ways in your post to shake it up:animwink: Regardless, I do remember this rumor, but it seems disney has chosen to put the sky pavilion on the other side:)
