Soarin' and Land pavilion rumors

When I first heard about Soarin' being added to Epcot I somehow thought it would be a whole new pavillion - Air. Wouldn't that have been better? Then there'd be Sea, Air and the Land all together. Darn.

Funny that you mention it, because there was a Land, Sea, and Air building planned for Disneyland back in the 50's in tommorowland. But of course most attractions planned never made it because there wasn't good enough technology to show the future.

There was a rumour a while back that the final piece of Futureworld land originally earmarked for a pavillion would get a copy of the TDS StormRider attraction. And yes, this piece of land is between The Living Seas and The Land.

BTW - is there any news on Soarin` Fastpass machines going outside the pavillion, or at least near the upper level entrance? It would help reduce traffic problems for those who won`t be riding for a few hours, and have no need to go right to the queue area to get a pass...

Wasn't it mentioned that the Fastpasses would be going in the place of part of the Sunshine Food Fair?

It would have been neat if they would have made an Air pavillion and had old and new planes on display like at the Air and Space Museum in Washington. They could have Soarin' and then another smaller ride that kids could ride.

Where the location where Soarin is, I could actually see the attraction being attached to another Pavilian. But I like the Stormrider one more.

Yeah, Mark is usually pretty accurate.
Well...except about a month ago when he (on a tip from Mike S.) reported that we were getting Soarin' over the US or something. :animwink:

Just kiddin' around Mark...Mouseplanet rocks.
Thanks, Lee. (And Grizz.) We try our best. Currently, it sounds like Soarin' over the US will be the new film for Epcot's 25th in 2007, but that's not confirmed. The original source that Mike heard from (who will remain unnamed) has good connections, but I'm now not sure how exact the news he's getting is on everything.

Oh, and Kevin? No, I don't. ;) :lookaroun
