As a fan of the classic monsters, that is one land i wish they would essentially double it in size to have 5-6 attractions. So much room for material and creativity.
Ha. Its Inspector Steel, an Indian comic book character. I was changing my profile pic during the bulk of SA6 to comic characters in the country of each challenge and just never changed it after we did those last few rounds in India.

I think Nintendo needs to be expanded beyond Mario. Mario is great and all, but out of all the properties they have, I hate that it always gets all the attention. I think Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Pokémon, Starfox, Animal Crossing, and Fire Emblem especially all deserve some love
If they hadnt done Hagrids, I'd kill for an Excitebike motorcycle coaster.

I think I've said it before, but you could do an entire theme park devoted to Nintendo.

I don’t know about any of you, but I think all of this would go over really well and be great fits. Especially the super relevant “Jonas Brothers go to Italy” movie? Ride? Show? Cages in the Italy enclosure keeping the Jonas Brothers locked up for meet and greets for all eternity?
Forget the Jonas Brothers ride, man! Who in their right mind wouldn't want to go on Hitler's Ride of Doom?

(I'm not kidding, folks. That is literally a ride suggested in that link.)

QotD: Another Universal question! What does a specifically Universal ride imply to you? What do you think of when you hear "Ride at Universal Studios"?

I know Disney rides also use it, but the term "...and something goes wrong!" comes to mind for Universal attractions. Almost across the board the major Universal attractions are a "something goes wrong!" type of plot. It gives the parks a sense of danger and urgency that is a major thing that sets it apart from Disney.

Not really a ride, but back when they had the horror makeup show I remember after the actor scared the bejesus out of a little girl, he looked at her and said “this ain’t the magic kingdom sweetheart” and that is the most universal statement I can think of

Kinetic. Nonstop. Usually using screens to keep the pace crazy fast. Things are always happening, characters are always shouting exposition at you. Even the most frantic rides at Disney have slow moments, for better or worse Universal very rarely does unless it is used as an exposition dump.

I feel like July 11th is a much more responsible reopening date than what Universal is doing. Most data sheets and analysis I've seen show July being the real start of things starting to get back to reasonable numbers. Plus, that gives proper time to see how reopening lower risk stuff goes. Considering it takes 2 weeks for symptoms, a week after to get a test, and usually in Florida another week or two after testing to get results, rushing things doesn't give us a good look at how reopening effects things. I'm proud and happy to see Disney not rushing into anything.

Kinda reminds me of those old Universal ads where the announcer asks "Fairy tales and pixie dust not quite your thing?" and a little girl says, "If I have to hug one more princess, I think I'm gonna hurl."

I agree, and honestly, that might even be too soon. Glad they didn't rush to open sometime in June just because Uni and SeaWorld are. Unfortunately means we probably won't be going for awhile. June trip already nixed and 1 back up trip was scheduled for 7/18-28. No desire to be there at opening, especially with mask requirements, reduced offerings, etc. And those reduced hours til 10/31 is a killer. Probably all for the best though. Looks like i'll be saving up and try and go all out down the road if things are a little more back to normal.

The only one taking a gamble here is Universal to me.

Their upside economically is minimal due to health restrictions and due to their cavalier efforts to open early they face obvious backlash if anything, even a minor breakout, occurs.

In the end I dont think anyone cares who is first but rather who is most prepared.

Yeah, I don't see how going with these requirements is even interesting to anyone. And honestly, even with all this, there still isn't much that can actually be done to distance out in a theme park setting. And, as a former cast member, I can promise most guests are idiots looking for the Shrek and Harry Potter rides or trying to grill hot dogs with an open flame so I don't trust them much to follow the new rules well. But there are people ready to tear down the gates and break in and a ton of pressure from Florida to open everything. So, what Disney is doing is a good balance. I'm saving what I can and my family and I are gonna just do a double vacation next year lol

Most prepared is definitely what matters. Both parks seem to have good plans, it really is just a question of how well they are enforced/followed. And if there are still too many assymptomatic carriers in FL right now.

I saw someone suggest Disney should have Stormtroopers patrolling all the parks that can be fully masked up and stay in character while yelling at idiots lol

QotD: What is the most quotable Disney movie?
Avoiding obvious answers like Gravity Falls and The Emperor's New Groove for the sake of originality, probably Beauty And The Beast, Toy Story, and most Marvel films.

QotD: Who is your favorite Disney Princess and why? They all have their virtues and each of them is amazing in her own right, but who stands out to you?
Mulan, she's a very kind person and she still proceeds to kick names and take ***. She has some very catchy songs that she's included in, she has a nice character dynamic with Li Shang, and what she does in the face of adversity proves just how strong she is with agood character motivation. Jasmine comes in a close second for having a wonderful personality, and a good character motivation along with her chemistry with along with good music, and she's very clever.
QotD:
What’s your parks “white whale”? What is something you've always wanted but just haven't ever been able to catch? Dining? Entertainment? Rope drop to Kiss Goodnight? Ride? Tell me about it
Don't know if this counts, but, I was planning on going to Disney Springs and visiting DisneyQuest one last time before it closed, but my family and I got busy making preperations that night so we winded up not going, so I never really got to say goodbye since it closed shortly after that.

Also, one thing I've wanted to do is collect all of the pins from Future World and wear them during a visit during the parks. Currently though, I only have two.

Syke! There is a Question of the Day!
QotD: With the massive turnout in signups and the hype train at full speed, what do you say to moving the competition's start date to May 23?
It's what everyone else wanted that mattered most, and most seemed to want it to be moved to May 23rd, as I don't really mind whether it starts early or later as long as everyone is okay with it and can deal with the time span given.

QotD: This week is all about elevators so let's talk about the top floor.
Disney_Renassanse_First_Film's_Collage.jpg

You have to get rid of one. Which one do you take out?
Hooh boy. Alright then. I'm going to have to say it's Aladdin.

Like Tiki said, Aladdin is a result of most of the voice actors in the animation industry entirely consisting of celebrities and celebrities only, which is fine as celebrities often can bring a character to life and can create a one scene wonder for a movie, like Batty Koda and Hexxus in Ferngully being the best parts of the movie and both being voiced by celebrities (Robin Williams and Tim Curry respectivel), but often times the celebrities are only there for marketing purposes, which wouldn't be as big of a problem as it is now if Aladdin didn't happen.

QotD: What is the best Disney animated show? Phineas and Ferb? Gravity Falls? DuckTales? Indulge me.
And now, for a list:
Ducktales (Both Versions)
Talespin
Darkwing Duck
Goof Troop
Gargoyles
Quack Pack
Mighty Ducks
Jungle Cubs
Doug
Recess
Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command
House Of Mouse
The Proud Family
Kim Possible
Lilo & Stitch: The Series
American Dragon: Jake Long
Phineas And Ferb
Stitch!
Kick Buttowski: Suburban Devil
Tron: Uprising
Gravity Falls
Wander Over Yonder
Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure
The Legend Of The Three Caballeros
Milo Murphy's Law
Big City Greens
Amphibia
The Owl House
Stitch & Ai
Fish Hooks
The Clone Wars

Honorable Mention Goes To:
Star Vs The Forces Of Evil (So much for the buildup guys)

QotD: Pitch a Disney+ series. Connected to a pre-existing IP? Original story? Adaptation of a story Disney hasn't retold before? Let's hear it.
I would like to see some Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure type shows based off certain IPs that act as sequels that answer questions and explore the characters and universes a bit more. I think it would work very well with Frozen, and heck, I think they would work well by rebooting some ditched TV Show pitches. Clearly the Atlantis and Hercules 'sequels' were tv show pitches, which is a shame because it really could have explored the Atlantis Universe a bit more and Hercules even had a solid plotline that could go on from the myths with some...cautionary editing so it has structure. The Great Mouse Detective could feed off the cliffhanger of an ending and could do Sherlock better than Sherlock.
Heck Inside Out would be a great source for one given how it can be comedic while still dealing with mental health issues to a realistic degree.

Meanwhile some cancelled movie concepts could be adapted like "The Wild Life" which was cancelled due to it's adult themes which could work well with the platform as long as it's given a big bright red NOT FOR CHILDREN sticker.

A house of mouse disney crossover tv show could be interesting given the potential character dynamics. I would imagine an MCU type plot thread that would expand over the course with several Disney villains duking it out with various heroes crossing over to stop them until someone like Chernabog or Maleficent comes over and essentially becomes the Thanos of the show. My main fear though is that there would be too many characters for their arcs to be handled satisfactorily.

That or just adapt Kingdom Hearts into a Tv Show with a competent writing staff this time.

A deconstructive TV Show following the Swan Lake tale and some others lesser known Grimm Fairy Tales could be cool, yet handled in a non-cynical and non-lampshasing manner.

Fraidy Cat, My Peoples, Angel and Her No Good Sister, and A Few Good Ghosts, Sinbad The Sailor, Homer's Odyssey, Song Of The Sea, and Scruffy are all cancelled films that easily could be adapted into (albeit short) tv shows very easily with some expansion.

Question of the day: How much of a chance do you think you have to win this season? Be honest
None because I am a judge lol.

Question of the day: What has been your favorite of the four weekly challenges?
I'm going to say it's the latest prompt, the elevator preshow prompt, since all of the prompts in the latter were generally very fun to read and very creative, although there's this project in the first prompt that I really loved.

QotD: One of the things that sets the Disney parks above and beyond others is the potential for an out of the blue special moment. What is a magical moment you've had in the parks?
It was when I was younger, and it's usually mostly memories of cast members, because I could talk about some of the few abandoned attractions I knew about when I was that age and they would understand what I was talking about which was really my only experience of this before joining the forums. Usually Planet Watch was always a nice place to talk to CMs also about animal handling.

Competition begins today! We've got some awesome prompts lined up for everyone already but I want to ask
QotD: What's kind of prompt are you hoping to see?
Well, I'm already in on the prompts, so I can't say anything C;

QotD: What's something you're doing in your offtime right now? We can't Imagineer 24/7 after all so tell me something else you've been doing.
Mostly just schoolwork, listing to music and oddly enough, writing lists for some reason is very entertaining to me. I don't know why though.

Real question of the day
Fitting into the Universal Epic Universe (*groan* I hate that name so much) theme of the week, how would you further expand the park as it is built out?
I would gradually try to expand the Nintendo areas of the park by expanding the expansion pad into a Smash Bros themed area so we can get representation for most Nintendo Games despite the limited space and even if it is just one land themed off of a fighting game.

All of the IP's mentioned so far seemed to be rooted in Fantasy, so why not turn the expansion pad near Fantastic Beasts into a Don Bluth themed land with attractions themed to The Secret of NIMH, The Land Before Time, and All Dogs Go To Heaven.

QotD: Another Universal question! What does a specifically Universal ride imply to you? What do you think of when you hear "Ride at Universal Studios"?

Okay, but seriously, usually I think of Thrill rides, IP Based Immersion true to the source material, and the halloween events.
