Meow meow! Welcome to a land of cats, based on the critically-lauded financially-ruinous 2019 hit film of the same name. At Catsland, you find all sorts of things related to Cats! Ride our many Cats-themed rides, shop at our many Cats-themed stores, and dine at many of our Cats-themed restaurants! Who will become the Jellicle Choice? That's for you to decide because the real Cats were the Cats we found along the way! It's a theme park themed to Cats! What's there not to hate?
There are seven essential areas in Cats Land:
Main Street, Chinatown, Trafalgar Square, The River Thames, Westminister Square, The Railways, The Park, and the
Egyptian Theater. Let's break each one down.
MAIN STREET
Walking down the main entrance, guests see on the far end the iconic Egyptian Theater, from the beloved Cats (2019). Along each side is the oversized streets of London, as seen in the brilliant film. Guests can explore the
vast singe pathway area all the while seeing real actors dressed up as cats from the beloved Cats (2019), along with some other real Cats from the ASPCA that would naturally escape from the adoption center.
Milk Bar
Much like the movie, the Milk Bar is a place where guests can come to listen to some jazzy music, watch some dancing, and drink milk(shakes). Unlike the bar from the movie, the oversized bar will have a human-sized bar within it. Around the bar, there will be several stages where dancers can perform and musicians can play. The highlight of every day at the park will be Rum Tum Tugger’s musical set, where he will re-enact his scene from the film but with additional original songs and some remixes thrown in to preserve the style that Jason Derulo brought to the role. The bar will also serve food, being similar to a 50s style diner. But in addition to the stereotypical 50s diner food like burgers, sandwiches, and the like, it will be known as a place to make specialty milkshakes. Regular offerings could include the “Rum Tum Toffee Shake”, the “Minty Mistoffelees”, and the “Bombalurina Banana”.
Jennyanydots’ Jitterbug Jubilee
Much like the Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, this attraction will shrink guests down to the size of mice and bugs to show the musical show created by none other than Jennyanydots. The show begins with Jennyanydots 3D face taking up a large portion of the screen, almost like a person unfamiliar with Zoom, as she describes the effort she took to create the show. Then, she gives way to her dancing mice, complete with her awkward dancing in the background. After a couple musical numbers from the mice, Jennyanydots interrupts the show, eating a couple of the performers and inviting the bugs onto the screen. The bugs perform, and then Jennyanydots, the (remaining) mice, and the bugs put on a big finale. At the end of the show, guests exit into a gift shop loaded with cat, mouse, and bug merchandise!
Mischief Making Mansion
For presumably the first time ever, guests will be put into an indoor wild mouse roller coaster; however, this coaster will have several major technological advancements. First, the coaster will actually be themed with genuine ride scenes. Projection effects will enable guests to feel like they are in the mansion. Guests will go through the mansion wrecking it, as the projections show Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer leading the charge through the mansion. At the end, guests will be able to create Rube Goldberg machines to destroy more (replaceable) objects for a small fee.
The Cemetery
Devoid of attractions and general whimsy, the Cemetery allows guests to relax or mourn the premature second death of the movie musical. Be sure to stop by the very spot where Tom Hooper's career has been peacefully laid to rest. Guests may enter the ornate mausoleum and pay their respects. Here, the Best Picture Oscar for "The King's Speech" lays in state for curious guests to witness and mourn. Flowers may be purchased at the Dandy Lions' Flower Shop for $30 a rose (20% of proceeds will go to the ASPCA.)
CHINATOWN
Chinatown is going to be a slightly oversized version of the real London Chinatown, with candles covered in canvas will eb n the air and lodes of market shops and food stalls lining the street. Fod will range from fancy stuff like, steaks and fried chikun to nudles and more asiany foods. Different chinese stores and goods, and a few british shops will sell . ton s of other merch to imerse guests in the chinatown envirenment. Also, cats will be walking down the street because it is a cats park hahaha.
TRAFALGAR SQUARE
Trafalgar Square in our cats park will be very unique in that it will be an oversized swimming pool. There will be a splash pad area, but the main attraction is the swimming pool within the fountain. We’ll provide lockers, but towels will cost money. Guests will either bring their own towels or buy our overpriced towels. Additionally, we will sell overpriced, cats themed swimsuits, which will be perfect to get a strong estimate of how popular our pool is. Another cool feature is that the lifeguards will be painted gray to fit in with the stone statues, so guests will think there isn’t a lifeguard on duty, until the “statue” saves someone! It’ll really make the pool immersive.
THE RIVER THAMES
It's a jolly good time at the world-famous River Thames. The heady smell of rotting fish perpetually permeates through the air, guiding guests to a stunning recreation of the heavily polluted River Thames circa 1926. Looking down into the water, guests may spy that old Bravo Cat Growltiger as he guides guests through the
Growltiger Garbage Barge River Adventure. Like a furry Huckleberry Finn he guides guests on an exciting adventure of song and trash. Stop by
Jellicle Fish and Jellicle Chips for all your fish 'n chips needs, but watch out for that old gumby cat Bustopher Jones ; he may just stop by to steal your meal. Or your purse mints. Anything edible, really. He's a cat, not an epicurean.
Growltiger Garbage Barge River Adventure
Make your way to the brown, polluted waters of the River Thames and and hop aboard the barge owned by none other than the world-famous Bravo Cat, Growltiger. Make your way around oversized "people boats," helping Growltiger pick garbage out of the river to add to his barge collection as he regales you with the stories of his youth as he steers your boat past some of his favorite haunts in what is sure to be the most romantic attraction in the park.
EXPLANATION: Growltiger is a character who appears in the 2019 film adaptation of the 1981 musical "Cats." In this rendition of the character, he guided guests down the River Thames as he waxes poetically, and musically, about the stories of his youth. Growltiger is played by a live actor. Each Garbage Barge will feature a different Growltiger ready to paddle curious guests down the physical and metaphorical river that is the old Bravo Cat's life. We hope that this will provide a unique romantic experience for guests looking for a quiet evening while also seamlessly featuring the important message of conservationism.
WESTMINSTER SQUARE
At the far end of the brown River Thames stands Westminster Square, themed to the Palace of Westminister: the most iconic structure in all of London. Although this region never appeared in the beloved Cats (2019) film, Universal Creative has taken on the very exciting role of expanding the Cats Universe! Guests will surely be amazed by this wonderful continuation of such a beloved world.
Entering into the plaza, guests are drawn to the "weenie", the Elizabeth Tower. To further emphasize the Elizabeth Tower's (informally called "Big Ben") status as a weenie, Hot Dogs will be sold just outside. Why a Hot Dog Stand has set up next to a historical monument in the universe is never explained.
For this is no ordinary monument. You see, Big Ben is actually the top-secret base of Macavity, the evil cat who wishes to cheat his way to the Heaviside Layer. Although it would make sense for a secret base to appear unassuming on first glance, only revealing its evil purpose upon further inspection and creating a small layer of horror, it is much cooler to have a distinguished Maccavity animatronic on top of the Tower who periodically shouts "
MA-CAVITTTTTY!!!" just so every guest knows what's up. It worked for the fire-breathing dragon, why not the weird jazz cat?
The Palace of Westminister houses
Macavity's Show of Gravity, a drop tower that is in no way or form a ripoff of the Tower of Terror. Anyone who says that is ridiculous. Does the Tower of Terror have an Idris Elba recording shouting about the Heaviside Layer while you plummet down the oversized gears of a giant clocktower? I thought not.
Exiting from the tower is a modern building, home to
Westminster Gift Shop, selling all British themed merchandise in both human and cat size. On the walls are various hit "memes" of funny cat pictures all in impact font. This hip and cool place will definitely not be already outdated upon opening day.
Also present in this area is the
Double Decker Bus, which... is a parked bus. You can look at it or you can take a picture. No, you can't go inside silly!
Counts as an attraction on the park count!
THE RAILWAYS
All aboard! The Railways will consist of a single massive train station resembling Paddington Station. Near the road are small shop vendors, all selling, you guessed it, cats related merchandise.
At the center is the main station, housing
Shimleshanks' Railway Taptacular. Step aboard the
Hogwarts Catpurr Express on a journey around London, all the while Shimbleshanks and his furry companions join for a round of singing and dancing.
This attraction blurs the line between ride and show. Lasting six minutes (counteracted by the vast seating per show), the train's windows are simulated, similar to the Hogwarts Express in Universal. However, unlike the Hogwarts Express, this attraction does not actually move. It remains in place. The journey lasts three songs -- first the Shimbleshanks song as seen in the beloved Cats (2019), and then two original songs dedicated to the railroad. As these songs are played, we can see our travels around the various districts of London, accompanied by Cats of many forms dancing along.
THE PARK
The Park would contain a Chasing Pigeons themed Trackless Dark Ride #832 of the Season, but unfortunately, we ran out of budget, so the land will open completely empty asides from a few places to sit.
EGYPTIAN THEATER
This theater will have multiple floors. On the first one, guests can watch the Cats musical to really add to the meta-ness of this epic theme park. On the second floor, guests can go into a hopping night club where they can go to dance to all the best cat music all day and all night long. On the third floor will be a lounge exclusive to ASPCA adopters, who will get a chance to shop for exclusive Cats merchandise for their own cats! However, the crown jewel of the entire park will be the Jellicle Ball, taking place in front of the Egyptian Theater every night, where guests will watch as Old Deuteronomy makes her selection for the Jellicle Choice. However, instead of Grizabella, Old Deuteronomy will choose a guest from the crowd. This guest will be escorted (hopefully not forcefully) to the hot air balloon, where they will have to fly the hot air balloon to the entrance. Although guests won’t be escorted by a cast member, they will have instructions on how to pilot the balloon, and if they have any issues and complain, the ASPCA will give them a cat.

Now that you've seen the finished product, let's see how it was created! Make sure to watch the entire video!
On behalf of the Final Three, we are incredibly honored to submit this final project. Thank you, judges and jury, for the fantastic season we had this summer.
