The moment you turn off of Resorts Drive and into the Drop Off overhang of the resort, you are immediately immersed in the scenic, bay-side beauty - with bright colors and meticulously crafted details along the facade of the main lobby. As you walk into the 3 story lobby, you will find the ornate architecture of a time long ago - as you step into the oval lobby and gaze up at the stain glass domed rooftop with artistic drawings scattered around it, giving off a quaint Victorian feel. Comfortable chairs and couches encircle the chandelier, with a foliage arrangement in a central hub at the exact center of the lobby. Guests can sit around, check-in at the desk to the left of the entrance, or visit the concierge where you can book tickets, make dining reservations, among a variety of other amenities exclusive to Monaco Bay. Around the lobby are several areas of interest, in particular various quick service pastry shop and tea shops, as well as a grand staircase that takes you up to the upper balconies. Gazing into the main atrium from the upper levels, you can see in detail the unmistakably gorgeous designs on the railings and beams, and you can take the hallways off of the 2nd floor towards any of the guest wings as well.

These are insightful observations. I'll attempt an answer.

First, UniSEA's real name...Universal's Worlds of Wonder

With a unifying concept that each land is its own fictional universe. Not a specific or original theme, but it's in line with Islands of Adventure and Universal's trends.

One of my big takeaways from DisneySea was how every land sees the Mt. Prometheus volcano, which feels natural from every setting (though each slope has a different scale and features). UniSEA needs a similar central icon to unify it all, and I settled on the Hogwarts Castle, set atop a mountainous crag at a lagoon's edge. Most of the lands (all single-IP) were selected so that a distant Gothic castle would fit in. For example, Universal Monsters came naturally. Hogwarts seen from Transylvania isn't Hogwarts, if that makes sense, but a monster's castle. Hyrule was an easy choice with the castle. Most of the other early land ideas were British (except for Skull Island).

Generally, lands were chosen for their timeless appeal and their Old World feel (and for IPs which are already under Universal's licensing). Skull Island doesn't mesh with the castle, so from that side of the park the castle's island is mostly Dover-style cliffs, hopefully hiding castle sightlines. Things like the Kong steamer ship can be placed to help with that isolation.

Pokemon was the last land developed. The area connecting Kong to Hyrule needed to connect jungle wilderness with Zelda's European wilderness. It also needed to be a child-friendly IP, for an otherwise teen-centric park. Initially we'd considered Dr. Seuss, until that became the resort's water park. At last we all landed on Pokemon. I'm hoping to do it mostly as a natural wilderness, with building textures rendered as realistically as Pokemon permits. The Kanto Region is inspired by Japan, whose older buildings could be the real world influence on Pokemon Land. Out-of-land sights like Skull Mountain, Death Mountain and those Dover Cliffs can all be designed to feel unobtrusive when seen from the Pokemon area. The castle shouldn't be visible from here.

Pokemon makes for a fun land, but I agree that it's the oddest fit for this park. (I think Hyrule works, especially if done in a more realistic style a-la Breath of the Wild.) I've considered other IPs for this location, such as children's book concepts (Where the Wild Things Are) or BBC-derived children's shows like Thomas the Tank Engine. Any of those would require licensing, and I think most of those BBC properties are already in Australian parks.

Long answer (do I do any other kind?!) but your question demanded it.
Name makes sense, considering Universal's love of the word 'wonder'.

 Sorry I made you write that much, but wow!:D I wonder if having Pokemon themed to be set somewhere in Japan except in a world where there is Pokemon would be cool.

Step into a coastal, seaside oasis in Universal's Monaco Bay Resort and Spa - exclusively at the Universal Australia Resort. A large chandelier hangs from the central point of the lobby - glistening with over 64 different light structures all fawning from the golden center.

This is a great resort that I wish I could go to but why does the train not stop here? Is it to close to the station in CityWalk?
