So Very Sad That Jimmy Buffett passed away. What a legendary musician! Really enjoyed his Margaritaville restaurant also!

Not a fan but a cultural icon legend. A brand for many Parrotheads.

A brand that even took over Splendid China and made a succesful shopping district, water park and Time Share out of it.

It is the resort in Orlando that you're talking about? I've stayed there before, and my wife and I really liked it a lot! We really liked the use of color at the resort.

My neighbors stayed at the Margaritaville resort in Kissimmee, had a great time. On opening day, Jimmy performed a set of songs on guitar.

Appropriate for the forum this post is in. (This whole music video was filmed in Universal Studios Florida)

Jimmy was very personally involved getting that Citywalk restaurant stood up. He even very much wanted to land the seaplane in the citywalk lake personally for the lone palm bar opening, but it just didn't work out. But he did get that plane stood up at the bar. Complete master of branding as well as a great singer.

Saw on YouTube Jimmy's last concert in San Diego May 2023. Amazing show and the encore was Southern Cross. Sail on Jimmy!

That would've been pretty awesome if he had landed the seaplace in the citywalk lake!

Jimmy Buffet will never go down as one of music's greatest talents. That being said, you'd be hard pressed to find a more devoted fanbase. Even those that aren't/weren't fans of his will find themselves singing along when one of his songs comes on at a beachclub or party. I would call myself a psuedo-parrothead... I didn't follow him around on tour but I've seen him a handful of times and he never disappointed. He'll be missed but his catchy fun-loving songs will live forever. He lived his life like most of us want to. Always smiling, making a living doing what he loved, but also staying very grounded as a person.

RIP Jimmy.

Jimmy could have been a casualty in the free wheeling dealings that was rampant in the FL Keys in the 1970s when he lived there singing in bars for tips . Key West and other points in the Keys were the main stopping points for small boats and planes coming from South America to unload their product which benefited to some locals who helped with those operations.
