Here's the whole thing :D

Long before the old Model "T"
'Round about the turn of the century
Folks discovered a barrel of fun
Takin' pictures by the light of the sun

Smile! Hug! Look at the camera
Hold your breath and say, "Cheese." Cheese!
Little did they realize back then
They were makin' memories
Good old memories.

Makin' memories
Makin' memories
Takin' pictures is makin' memories
Catchin' little pieces of time
Makin' 'em yours and makin' 'em mine

Birthday faces and happy places
We love to hold near and dear
And when we're makin' memories
Happy days can reappear
Appear

(Brief musical interlude)

Wu! Then the flappers appeared on the scene
Rum-ble seats and twenty cent gasoline
Radios and Dixieland jazz
Brownie cameras and razz-a-ma-tazz

Snap shots of the whole family
Give that button a squeeze
Little did they realize back then
They were makin' memories

Makin' memories
Makin' memories
Takin' pictures is makin' memories
Catchin' little pieces of time
Makin' 'em yours and makin' 'em mine

Big occasions and celebrations
We can forget in a year
But when we're makin' memories
Happy days can reappear
Appear

All around us
Everywhere we look
Every moment that we live
Can fill a picture book
Picture book

Light and shadows
Smiles and sentimental tears
They're the special moments
We can cherish through the years

Now we shoot whatever we see
Night or day in color photography
Candid shots of baby at play
Photo finishes
And tigers at bay
Hey don't look into the camera
Let's be natural please
And with ev'ry single shot we take
We're makin' memories

Makin' memories
Makin' memories
Takin' pictures is makin' memories
Catchin' little pieces of time
Makin' 'em yours and makin' 'em mine

Great vacations and graduations
We love to hold near and dear
And when we're makin' memories
Happy days can reappear

All around us In our ever-changing world We can see the galaxy Of photographs unfurled Light and shadows From all corners of the Earth Tell the story of our times Our pride, our dreams, our worth.

One! More! Time!

Makin' memories
Makin' memories
Takin' pictures is makin' memories
Catchin' little pieces of time
Makin' 'em yours and makin' 'em mine

Great vacations and celebrations
We love to hold near and dear
When we're makin' memories
Happy days can reappear
Look at the birdie!

The first time we took our kids to Disney (when they were little) and saw that pre-show, my husband and I cried through it. (Of course, I tear up every tiime I hear "Turn Around", too...)

I thouht Captain EO was True Colors by Kodak..

I see your true colors shining through.
I see your true colors, so don't be afraid
to let them show.
Your true colors are beautiful, like a rainbow.

And it had slide show images of kids and different things in bright, true colors to promote kodak.

Captain EO was groundbreaking stuff. Back in the day. Might still be there if not for Mike.

I dont think it was removed because of Micheal Jackson. It was removed from Epcot to add "Honey I shrunk the audiance" and in Disneyland it was replaced in 1998 so they could add "honey" there as part of their "new tommorrowland" fiasco. After all, ______ Wee Herman is still in Star Tours.

Captain Eo was great! I saw it a couple of times back when it was new and still at Epcot. You HAD to see it in the theatre there to really get the scope behind what it was all about, and to get the experience. It was the in-house special fx combined with the cool movie and lighting effects that provided a big "wow". Watching it today on a tv ( or computer) screen just does'nt cut it. You has to 'be there"!

I agree with Ghostbuster...."Honey..." is crap when compared to Eo. I never understood why this movie has lasted so long and it STILL so prominently promoted at the park. I think it's time for it to be retired and a new film or attraction be put in there. How about another attraction like Phillharmagic, but this time featuring Dreamfinder and Figment?

How sweet would THAT be??

Is that really P ee Wee Herman or just a common rumor? I've heard mixed things. Anyone know for sure?

Edit: Found it on IMDB that it is in fact Paul Reubens' voice.

Now you mention it, I think they did change the pre-show during the life of Captain Eo, and that's what it was changed to. "Makin' Memories" was a similar thing, but with a different song.

Makin Memories was the Origianl Pre-Show, it was also used as the pre-show for Magic Journeys.

At some point Durring Eo's run the pre-show was changed to a new show called "Capture a Smile".

This post brought back memories..........

I loved Capt EO. I remember it being very loud in that theatre.

I used to have the oversized 3-D comic book and a plastic "Hooter" toy from the Gift Shop.

I remember they showed a making of Captain EO and the actual movie on the Disney Channel as well.

"Another Part of Me" was on the "Bad" LP, but not " We Are Here to Change The World". He just recently released it on his box set that came out in 2004.

Bout 16 years too late on that one Mike.........

Ah yes...EO merchandise!

I'm such a geek....i still have and display my Captain EO pvcs and Fuzzball plush.

There was a cool Hooter plush too out then....i did'nt get him though! Du'oh!

I'm pretty sure that True Colors came before the end of Captain EO's run. I don't remember the Makin' Memories preshow at all, although I do remember the song (possibly from the Kodak gift shop?) I was pretty young in the 80's, lol. I'm also pretty sure that True Colors was the original preshow for HISTA. I always loved that song and that preshow, and I was sad when it got replaced.

Good times, good memories!
