Really good deal. Just have to have the flexibility to take off work 3 week days between Jan and June.
Not sure if you saw because I didnt originally you can pay 50 dollars more and it allows you 7 days a week access.

Special Southern California Resident Tickets at a Glance

  • 3-Day, 1-Park Per Day Ticket for admission Monday through Thursday only – $225 ($75 per day)
  • 3-Day, 1-Park Per Day Ticket for admission any day – $275
Park reservations are required, and are subject to availability.

Easily worth the $50. Weekends especially Sundays were already better than most weekdays depending on the time of year. Weekdays are cheaper and 2-3 Key tiers are blacked out on weekends. If most people buy the weekday So Cal ticket because it’s cheaper then weekdays would get even worse. Fridays are blacked out on the weekday tickets too. I would avoid Mondays for sure.

Exactly .
2023 dates January 2 to May 25, 2023 and June 12 to Sept 28, 2023.
2024 dates January 2 to Jun 2, 2024....

That is 9 months this year plus you get to visit during the holiday celebrations Halloween started September 1 and Christmas Ends January 7th. My visits have dwindled to about 1 to 2 a month so if this continues better to do this deal. It helps day tickets generally have a better availability for reservations and you have no block outs if you upgrade to weekends.

Why bother with an annual pass when they have these deals? Feeling some regret right now.

Not to mention the new gnarly blackouts for pretty much everyone but Inspire now. Still though a family of 4 would spend $1100 for these passes (including weekends). If you go 1-2 times a month Keys would still be a good deal obviously.

What these passes do though is they make you question if you really need to go to Disneyland that many times a year and commit all that money. You’d have to stick to one deal though. If your buy this winter/ spring so cal ticket and then do it again in the summer than you may as well buy a Magic Key.

Each situation is different and how you visit especially with parking and discounts with a Magic Key. But the cheapest Magic Key that has July and August access is 1249. So if you only go once a month that would be quite the jump from about 600 dollars for 6 visist (No blockouts) once a month to 1249 for access during July August but still have some Block out days.

I guess if you REALLY value a visit in July you can look at it that way. Otherwise Enchant Keys are what $700? They’re not blacked out in early June or most of August and you get to go to the park a whole lot more than 6 times for only $100 or so dollars more in this scenario.

EDIT: Enchant Keys are $850 now so $250 more.

I haven't had a pass for years because I'm mostly free weekends and holidays. And its much cheaper to spend $150 a day a few times a year than it is to buy a top-of-the-line pass to go on weekends and holidays. If I can go a few times a year for about $500, then why would I get a pass?

I think the cheapest you can get a 3 day pass for is $225.

Depends how often you want to go. Many people would find $300 more for a pass where you can go most of the year including many weekends to be worth it.

$500 for 6 visits vs $800 for “unlimited” visits.

Totally. That said, it’s $194/Saturday now, plus $35 for parking. More if you want to park-hop.

Pass or no pass, it’s a pretty bad deal.

I usually only have time to go about 3 times per year. I like Disney (obviously) but it's not different enough where I need to prioritize going to the park over seeing a show or traveling.

At 3 times then yeah you’re obviously better off with a So Cal ticket. However if one buys two of them between Winter/Spring and Summer then I think you have to take a look at a Magic Key. I thought that’s what you were referencing when you said $500 as a 3 day So Cal pass is only $225.

I just buy day tickets as I never know when I'm going to have time or desire to make a day of it. I don't want to decide I want to go, but my ticket expires or isn't good on that day. So I just buy individually to avoid any hassle.

I have a hard enough time rationalizing going anytime. This makes it a bit more palatable...even then, 3 times between Jan and June may be more than I would want to go. And this is coming from someone that went regularly as an AP for a decade plus.
