Snowcapped Mountains Behind Disneyland - COOL!

The first big winter storm of the season swept into SoCal yesterday, bringing a couple of feet of snow to the San Gabriel Mountains just to the north of Orange County. Disneyland has released some pictures of the snow capped mountains north of Anaheim, and the snow covered Sleeping Beauty Castle looks particularly gorgeous with the real snow behind it!

Here's some of the official Disney photographs released on Tuesday. Another storm is moving in tonight, with yet more snow predicted for the San Gabriel Mountains. http://www.mouseinfo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88278

I love it when those mountains get snow. It's so beautiful!

One of my favorite pictures is when you get the Matterhorn in front of those snow covered mountains.

People over there are saying the photos were photoshopped ! :hammer:

They're joking. That's a Disneyland board based in SoCal; most of those folks can look out their windows and see the snow on the mountains this week.

This picture was taken Tuesday morning, after the snow level dropped to 2,000 feet and the San Gabriels got several feet of snow up to the 10,000 foot level. Today it got even colder, the snow level has dropped to 1,500 feet, there is snow falling in the suburbs north of Los Angeles, and there is more snow piling up by the foot in the San Gabriels.

Now there is also snow falling on Saddleback Mountain tonight, just to the west of Disneyland about 20 miles. If it clears up like predicted tomorrow, there should be more pictures of snow capped mountains to the north and east of Disneyland and central Orange County. And yes, it's a shame the Sun Wheel is closed to be turned into Mickey's Fun Wheel. That always offers the best place for pictures of the snowy mountains!

Normally this much snow doesn't arrive until January and the Christmas decorations are gone. But winter arrived early this year, and it's making for some neat pictures with the Disneyland Christmas decorations up. It sure is cold and rainy tonight down here near the coast, that's for sure!
