Snow on Main Street?

I hope this doesn't sound like a silly question, but I've never had the opportunity to be at WDW at holiday time so I've never seen it snow on Main Street. I know it's too warm there to actually 'snow' so what do they do to make it snow? Is it actually snow that melts shortly after it falls or is it bubbles or something else. I was just wondering it and hoping that maybe next year I'll get to a MVMCP!

It's soap bubbles, yes, and they use this same effect at MGM and downtown Celebration.

On Main Street, they sometimes have it snow during Spectro during that Christmas week. It's beautiful.

Psssh, I lived in Buffalo for 19 years, I didn't know you lived there bhg!

Anyway, I was thinking they would use the soapflakes, my friend thought it would be funny to catch one on his tongue the other day at MGM, yeah that was an interesting sight to see :hurl:

But, like photodave said, I am SO GLAD I don't have to shovel it anymore!

Thanks everybody for your answers! According to my local weatherman, we should be seeing some of the real white stuff in a few weeks! I can't wait!

Yes, those are soap bubbles floating down Main Street. However, for soap bubbles, they look pretty realistic...
By the way, no white stuff forecasted here until next week. :( weather.com says the first snowfall for Detroit will be Monday. (I live a half hour away from the border, so we get pretty much the same weather...)

They really look like snow flurries as they flutter down. And of course since it's bubbles and not shavings, there's no build-up of material on the ground. Though anyone who wears glasses, watch out 'cause it'll get your lens soapy! lol

Very hard to get on film, but very, very pretty to see. Went to MVMCP on the 3rd for the first time ever and it was lovely.

I'm from half an hour north of Detroit (living in East Lansing til next Friday though!) and I'm ready for a good snow. There was one the day before Thanksgiving and we got about 2-3 inches. We had one here in East Lansing last week and it was about 3 inches or so. The weatherman says its supposed to snow here on Saturday.

I really wish I could go down to WDW at Christmas. Maybe sometime

We had 7" in KC, Missouri two days before we left for WDW. Let me tell you, it was a whole lot nicer seeing the soap-bubble flurries in 70 degree temps. than seeing that junk in 30 degrees. MVMMCP was totally awesome and couldn't have been more beautiful. This was our first trip to WDW and we can't even imagine going back anytime but Christmas now.

This happened to us too. We made our first Christmas season trip 3 years ago, and now have gone back each year since, a lot in part b/c of the Florida snow which my parents absolutely love. Christmastime is the best time. Glad you had a great trip!

Oh the photo was great. We are going Dec. 21- Jan. 1st. This is our first trip to WDW during the Christmas Season. I was apprehensive at first but now I think I am looking forward to going! As this is our first trip, we dont really know what to expect...can we expect to see the snowfall at least once during our trip?

Just got back last night.

While enjoying the Osbourne lights and talking with my family I swallowed a huge blob of the beautiful Disney snow. I wasn't even swearing, so I don't see why I had to get my mouth washed out with soap !!!! :hurl:

It is a truly beautiful sight - just keep your mouth closed ...
