If you go to collegehumor.com you can watch her hilarious performance. For her second song she was supposed to perform her latest single "Shadow," but instead a track started playing the song she just performed which was "Pieces of Me." Anyways it proved she lip synced her first performance because the backing track started playing. When she realized she was screwed she started doing a "hoedown" dance, and then walked off stage. Afterwards she blamed the band for "playing the wrong song." Ok whatever Ashlee, if they were playing the wrong song they could have easily switched over. The reason was it you can't sing and you had to have your backing track. Haha too funny!

She said something like "Oh I'm so embarrassed and sorry for what just happened! My band started playing the wrong song and I didn't know what to do so I just started doing a hoedown."

Ouch. I usually watch SNL to see how bad it is going to be, but there were too many college football games on. I wonder if they'll show it again on the reruns? I kinda doubt it.

I found it to be a brialliant moment.

And so classy to blame it on your band to try to save your own ______.

Didn't work Ashlee.

I know! I knew ever since she came out that she was a fake! She tried to act like she was so punk and look at her now, just another Britney/Hilary lipsyching skank! lol I love it!

I have no problem with singers using vocal tracks to add harmonies to themselves or to boost their power during songs where they might be dancing and unable to sing full out, but the few episodes of Ashlee's show that I saw, I have never heard her sing well. So when I heard her CD, I could tell there was a lot of magic worked by the machines during her recording session. Using vocal tracks to enhance what you've already got is somewhat acceptable to me. But using them to give you what you never had in the first place, that's not cool.

One of the best vocal performances I've heard on SNL in recent history is Miss Aguilera. Despite what you think about her as a person or a performer, that girl can SANG.

Exactly. But this certainly didn't look like that was the case here. How embarassing.

I'd take her sister Jessica over her anyday! At least I've never heard Jessica lipsynch...even though she does scream a lot. *and is also impossible to watch, she moves her head and makes disgusting facial expressions*

Does Milli Vanilli come to mind from the live MTV awards? And how fitting one of their lipsync songs went something like this

"Girl you know its true.. oh oh oh you're through"

and

"Girl I'm going to miss you" :)

Oh yea and the song "Blame it on the Band"

I have to agree with you on Aguilera. I thought that before on a thread I seen posted about her. Her vocal are out of this world.

Listen to her vocals on "Reflection" from Mulan. She doesn't need to act and dress like that to succeed her vocals speak for themselves.
