Rossella's baby shower is Sunday. And tomorrow Judy is making dinner for George for his birthday. It should be a good weekend.

I didn't want to say anything yesterday what with the concern for Stephie.. it didn't seem appropriate. But, Lou and I decided to take the kids to WDW at the end of July as a b-day present to them both. Jetblue had a sale and we scored airfare for $160 each R/T, got a great passholder rate for 5 nights at POFQ, already have admission (AP's), soooo... :o We're gonna surprise them the morning we're leaving.

You do know that all of us are always happy to see one of us go to WDW, right? No need to be embarrassed. You and Lou both work very hard. You earn the right to go and you deserve it. We all love to hear about your trips...both before and after. So please do share!

Thanks, Dot. You always know what to say to me to help me get over my insecurities. :kiss: We are blessed to be able to go frequently. We do realize that and don't take it for granted.

I love weekends with nothing to do, but sometimes it's nice to get out and see people. I'm looking forward to it!

Ugh, my mother just called. :dazzle: She is just clueless. Back in 2002 she bought 2 timeshares in Aruba, for $13,500 each. So, she spent 27K on them. She has been trying to sell them for 3 years. She had an offer on one of the weeks for 10K. This was a few months ago. After the real estate company that is trying to sell them for her takes their cut, she would have ended up with 8K. Well, my mother does not understand that timeshares are not an investment, and she expects to get back all, or close to, what she spent on them. :brick: So she lost that sale b/c she came back and said she wanted 12K, and the buyers walked away. So her call just now was to say that she had an offer for 20K for both of them. I said "TAKE IT" and what did she say.... not enough. She wants 25K. She is just crazy. She has no idea that the timeshares are not worth what she thinks they are worth, and by tellling the prospective buyers she wants more $, they are gonna walk away like the others did.

It is so frustrating because she won't listen to me.

Especially in today's market. Not many people are even considering time-shares right now. :shrug:

Believe me, I've tried to tell her that. But as I said she is stubborn, and since she is paying only the yearly maintenance fees (the timeshare cost was paid upfront w/the inheritance she got when my grandmother died), she says she'd rather hang on to them then take a (what she feels) is a lowball offer. :hammer:

I guess not, since she keeps trying to get more out of the potential buyers. :brick: I give up. She makes me crazy in so many ways. This is just one of them. :lol:

I have to run, ladies. Lou is just getting home with some groceries so I have to help him unload. Hope everyone has a great weekend and that things continue to improve for Stephie. I'll be thinking of and praying for her.
