Is this sarcasm? I spend wayyyy too much money when in that part of Tennessee.

A Disney ticket is less than the cost of one day of golf carts, games, food, skiing, etc.
No. I find the people are some of the most genuine and grateful people that you will find in a tourist based market. I have no problem being gouged in that place.

While I certainly agree that the prices are getting a bit ridiculous, I totally disagree about the quality. Back in the late 70's, and into the 80's, even the food at the TS restaurants was bad. It is miles better nowadays. And again, there are other options. Share a few appetizers at a TS place. Share a meal at a QS place. Unless someone is a huge eater, it is more than enough food. We can never finish a QS meal by ourselves, and always end up sharing one, with an add-on or two. Again, not disagreeing at all that the prices are up, just sayin' that we all have options to combat the price hikes.
You clearly don't have teenagers...

Sort of... some are very good like colombia Harbor House & Harambe Market, and others like Cosmic & ABC are awful. Universal does this too so I don't see the big deal in the quality. Pricing though is far too high for quick service especially. Sit down is not so bad considering you get good food like in World Showcase.

The picture was more directed at the upcharge and expensive pricing "options" that apparently don't impact you if you ignore them but I agree.

So can going to any type of entertainment venue.
I'm definitely not arguing that point. Even catholic school festivals are easy to spend well over $100 in a couple of hours.

This is the reason that I don't understand the outrage over $5 Mickey Ice Cream Bars. Entertainment and food at amusement park/theme park/museum/zoo/tourist spot/any venue, is typically overpriced. I think the majority of people know that before going anywhere.

Most who attend a catholic scool festival willingly pay that because it's a school fundraiser. No comparison.

Hmm, well not something we'd ever spend money on, and you've done it more than once. That, to us, would be throwing our money in the toilet. Different strokes.

Colleague of mine from the office who like me is a avid nature photographer went to Africa for a photo safari that was 9K for a week, Like me he's a recovering Disney fan that 9K would have gone to Disney had it not been for he being fed up with the constant nickle and diming and declining quality of the offerings...

Because it's not the price itself that is the concerning part... it's what the company is doing with prices, and how the company is approaching customers and their treatment of them.

It blows my mind that with all the changes in even the last 4-6 weeks people still don't see it. And the 'well it doesn't impact me' or 'dont buy it then...' responses.. do you really think these changes are going to stay isolated to things you DON'T cherish?

This pace of change is unprecedented... and people act like it's just normal inflation, or just things that don't directly impact them. Some people are just going to get slammed by a train because they refuse to open their eyes to what is actually going on around them. One day they are going to wake up and realize it's too late and they can't rollback all those little changes that added up to a boat load of change that fundamentally changes their net experience.

I really don't know what it will take before some people take the blinders off and look around.

It was bad enough when we started getting seasonal menu pricing.. soon we'll get congestion pricing at shows... or how about paying for that center section at F! or you can sit way over to the side for free..

Our Athletic Association runs our school festival, so that is where all the proceeds go. Yes, we obviously support it. However, call me a horrible mom, PTA member, parishioner. I do not participate in every one of our 5086 fundraisers per year. Most, but not all. $250 pp for trivia night? I'm out. $500 pp for a white party casino night? I'm still out. Kudos to those who do it...I'll keep donating money for the prize baskets to be won by the attendees of said events who are more giving than me.lol
I'm glad your see it's not comparable to what we are discussing here.

Quoting because I don't have the energy to try and explain this yet again to the ignorant. @flynnibus said it well enough even Stevie Wonder could see.

Right, I get that. I don't think any consumer on earth is joyful about a price increase. Once it happens though, what are you going to do? Buy it or don't buy it. Can't turn back time. At the end of the day it's an ice cream. Now an ice cream that costs $1.25 more. Prices raise on items all of the time. Is it really a cause for outrage? Is $1.25 really going to price someone out?
Do you really still think this is about ice cream?
