You are right, but, that is not owned by Disney. I should have said, any bar/lounge owned by Disney is non smoking.luvorlando said:Not all.
Jellyrolls, the piano bar on the Boardwalk, allows smoking.

 You and Speck need to hang out at the parks and enforce Disney rules. Between you cracking ankles with the wheelchair and Speck stepping on toes for people not going to the end of the isles to be seated.barnum42 said:joviacdan - there have been a few threads on this subject, but they may or may not still be around as they tend to get very heated and insults start to fly.
I got the impression that the main reason many CMs don't confront smokers is that the mentality of somone who decicedes they are above the rules makes them the sort who will throw abuse at a CM asking them to smoke only in a designated area. I am ware that some smokers will be unaware of the designated zones, will apologise and do the right thing. I'm also happy to say that a lot a smokers abide by the rules, but you are right that many just don't care.
The last smoker that really annoyed me was in the crush to get out of Epcot after Illuminations. So I cracked him in the ankeles with the wheelchair I was pushing :drevil:
I do the toe stomping routine too - I'm just not as skilled at it as speck and have yet to hit an ingrown toenail :lol:Computer Magic said::lol: You and Speck need to hang out at the parks and enforce Disney rules. Is there any rules I can help enforce? Noboday answer, it'll just start trouble :lookaroun
We were talking about bars and lounges, not the parks.joviacdan said:My fiance and I were discussing this last night. There are certain designated areas of each themepark where smoking is allowed. However, when we were there in September with my fiance's 3 year old son, people were smoking all over the place, not just in designated areas.
Her son is an asthmatic and several times was having coughing and breathing problems due to smokers nearby. Whenever we asked a CM about why they allow it, we got the same answer - "If they see someone smoking in a non-designated area, they tell them to put it out." BULL!
We didn't make a huge gripe about it last time, but next May when we're there with her son, I'm not gonna be so passive about it. I think Disney employees have a responsibility to it's non-smoking guests and to the thousands of children that visit each day to keep smoke away from them and the fact that they are either too lazy or too scared to enforce their non-smoking policy is simply unacceptable. I don't ike being subject to cigarette smoke and I SURE don't want that little boy subjected to it.
Well, someday you may hit one. Keep trying.barnum42 said:I do the toe stomping routine too - I'm just not as skilled at it as speck and have yet to hit an ingrown toenail
Yep, you can patrol for shirts and shoes in the parks. And, gum spitting out on the ground and spitting on the ground and littering. That should keep you busy.Computer Magic said::lol: You and Speck need to hang out at the parks and enforce Disney rules. No smoking in any restaurant/bar in any park at Disney. Not even outside on the patio area of the Rose and Crown. One Lil Spark said:Well, when I went last March when I'd just turned 21, I decided to get a little tanked and "Drink Around the World!" I drank in every country maybe even twice. There are no bars/lounges you can smoke in to the best of my knowledge. The only one I'm not completely sure about is the Rose & Crown Pub. It looked like a place on the inside that you could/should smoke in, but I think Florida law is no more smoking inside.

You also have a responsibility to keep the child out of harm's way. I have seen CMs tell people to put the cigarette out and have seen the request complied with, and I have seen people get just plain nasty about it. Many people don't know about the policy and many are not from this "smoking is PC incorrect country". I smoke in the areas assigned. I have never walked around with a cigarette in my hand, too dangerous. What I can say is I have seen people walk through the smoking areas and make comments that are unnecessary and frankly, that is almost as bad as breaking the rules. I have even told people smoking in a non designated smoking area that they are not in the right area and have pointed out the spots on the map. I have been thanked and told to F off. Go figure. Most of the rule breakers are the young people (like my daughter who is a '76 baby) who don't think the rules apply to them and they figure out of the way is just fine. That really annoys me.
I'm not going to go to much further into this subject. As barnum42 has stated, this has been debated on the boards before.joviacdan said:I don't have any opinions about the "smoking is PC incorrect country". I could care less about that. What I do care about is that it's unhealthy for me and it's unhealthy for those whom I love, and I don't feel as though they should be subjected to it.
If someone doesn't know, that's fine. personally, I think it's rude for them to smoke in public (especially around children), but if they are told to go to a designated area and refuse - They should be tossed out by security. It's one of the rules at Disney. Should we let people who run around tripping guests for the fun of it off with warnings, just because of a possible reply they might have?
I absolutely agree with this comment, but then again, a little secondhand smoke doesn't bother me that much. The way I see it is that, heck, if you want to kill yourself, more power to you, I am just passing by.joviacdan said:If someone doesn't know, that's fine. personally, I think it's rude for them to smoke in public (especially around children), but if they are told to go to a designated area and refuse - They should be tossed out by security. I'm a social drinker/smoker and I'd NEVER think of doing that. That person shouldn't be classified as a smoker, they should be classified as trash with no class. Don't lump us into that person's assumed category! :brick:Computer Magic said:The one thing I remember reading is a CM approached a smoker in the park and the smoker flicked the cigarette and hit the CM in the face.

Doh :brick: I wasn't trying to express an opinion on smokers vs non-smokers. I do my best not to sterotype people. One Lil Spark said:I'm a social drinker/smoker and I'd NEVER think of doing that.
