Sure..marni1971 said:Well, you don`t get it much better than that! boo52 - can you let us in to some of the backstage workings that make Wishes work? What does it entail to prepare for and run the show?
Basicly Wishes uses about 700 pieces of pyrotechnics. 350 or so of 1.3G (The BIG stuff) and 350 of 1.4G (The Small rooftop stuff). The rooftops consist of 10 bunkers. 5 on each side of the castle. The Main launch site has a total of 38 bunkers. There are 6 different vendors that manufacter the product for Wishes. 2 Chinese and 4 from the US. Some fireworks were created especially for Wishes. (The Blue Star with popping center, The Unhappy face, The Big Blue Genie Shell to name a few) It takes a crew of 5 anywhere from 5 to 7 hours to load the show depending on the weather.
Showtime consists of 2 shooters and 3 ground spotters. One shooter is positioned in front of the castle. This person shoots the Rooftops and is also the main person for making calls on the entire show. AE: Cut this and that out due to wind. The othere shooter is outside the park at the main launch facility. This person takes instructions from the Rooftop shooter. The 3 spotters roam Fantasyland, Liberty Square, or Cosmic Rays area depending on the wind direction in case debris comes near the guests. They are in constant contact with the Rooftop shooter. The show is fired from 2 computers using FireOne firing software that was made custom for Wishes. One computer fires the roofs and the other fires the Main. If need be the Rooftop computer can fire the main and the rooftops together.
Hope that gives you some insight, feel free to Private Msg me if you have questions.
