Imagineers after reading this thread...

I mean, they could always just STOP making unnecessary changes for the sake of it and start fixing things that are actually broken (and in many cases have been broken for some time) instead...

For example, Constance. Constance isn't even a good addition to begin with, but if she's going to stay around, they could at least make the projection look slightly better. Even WDW's Constance looks better than DL's, and given the state of things over there in general, that's pretty embarassing.

So they don't even have to leave Haunted Mansion if they're desperate to change things, but want to do it on things that would truly benefit from it instead.

Because Haunted Mansion Holiday screws up the normal Mansion.
Tokyo is able to do HMH without their normal Mansion looking like a trainwreck afterwards. So it's not inherently because of HMH that there are problems-there must be some other factor at work, even if it's something as simple as sheer indifference on their part.

Their Indiana Jones and Splash Mountain likewise are free of the problems that seem to plague (or have plagued) their American cousins.

It can be done. They just choose not to.

If this can get though the Disney capex process, maybe maintenance should write up a capex for the Indy ball and doors.

I think it's pretty telling that only WDW has had certain changes like the CGI Hitchhiking Ghosts, interactive queue and on-ride flash photo. Not even Phantom Manor got those things after being closed for over a year.

They keep making changes, but don't have the ability to admit they were wrong and change them back.

Which is ludicrous because people love the old stuff! They have a very profitable merchandising machine that could tell them that things that evoke classic scenes or attractions sell like hotcakes, but they just cannot handle being wrong, and so dig down further.

At least they're finally fixing Tarzan more than a decade later, I guess?

Tarzan's Treehouse actually opened 24 years ago 😬 But after a quarter decade is better than never, I guess.

Mildly related, the new Haunted Mansion Movie released this poster today, trailer drops tomorrow. This certainly makes it look like a new take on the Mansion:

“They’re gonna be deader.”

“Okay.”

Comedy gold!

Did I see the bride/Constance in the trailer? Maybe Imagineering can use synergy as an excuse for updating her subpar appearance in the ride.

I'm hesitant to throw compliments to the 2003 Mansion movie, but I did like that their haunted house made an effort to have a distinct look to set it apart from any of the park attractions. This new house is obviously Disneyland inspired.

I like that idea, even if I never see the movie or if I don't enjoy it I would be happy if they have Constance in the movie and change her ride counterpart to the show counterpart rather than adding an Owen Wilson animatronic by the grave keeper AA.

I think it's just too over the top for me, again a classic feature of Disney live action cheese from the last 2 decades.
It is like a bad sitcom. It is like they are zooming in on Urkel from Family Matters when he says "Did I do that?" Why is the kid wearing a bowtie?
