Right when Once upon a time ended it looked like the castle sparked a little fire, The whole castle has been evacuated. Fire fighters rushed to the scene with fire extinguishers. The fire is already out

You could not see the fire however you could smell smoke in the castle area. This looks like it could have been the fallout from Once upon a time.

I mean... they do shoot FIREworks... off of the castle... #iono
Disney's pyrotechnics propulsion system uses compressed air and electronic timers, or so I've been told...

Regardless, burning fiberglass gives off toxic fumes, so it'd be important to get guests well clear of any burning castle parts...

I don't think wdw uses compressed air, I think they just use black powder like all other fireworks in the world use. I could be wrong.

They do use air launch shells. However, most of them are conventional black powder. So both of you are correct.
To my understanding, the compressed air launch has not been done for many years in WDW, but last I knew it was still used in DL. Even then, it was limited to Illuminations. Disney are the ones who developed the technology, but it was costly and was not without problems.

RoE and Wishes both have air launches. I believe the initial 'Wishes....' shots are ALF, as is the 'creation' shot from RoE.
