News Sleeping Beauty's Castle to be refurbished

I thought the castle looked best when they covered it up with a huge meta concept painting of the castle a few years ago.

According to the tail end of the above video, seems like they're going to be doing that again.

Cosmetic changes like this are usually my favorite kind. Rarely are they abominations and even when they are they're usually easy to ignore. Obviously it'd be hard to ignore an abomination on Sleeping Beauty Castle (like painting it green and yellow), but I don't think the new color scheme looks bad; just different.

Sleeping Beauty Castle is the second greatest castle ever built following only Neuschwanstein Castle on which it is inspired and followed only by Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant

I wonder if they have enough time to add fiber optics or some other lighting/special effect to the roofs they're replacing?

Sounds like it will basically be the same color scheme but with some paint enhancements causing forced perspective...want to make it look taller...without making it taller.

It will be repainted Go Away Green since the castle is so small, most people don't notice it anyway. Most visitors expect a larger castle like the one in Florida or the opening logo for the Disney movies and wander around Disneyland's hub confused wondering where the castle is.

Disneyland Paris' castle has these hypnotic strobes that twinkle all day long. Seriously hypnotizing.

Edit: With project stardust, disney has acknowledged that the new painting techniques will enhance forced perspective and make the castle appear taller. Perhaps this is the "pixie dust" she's referring to, in the same way they say things like "pardon our pixie dust..." on construction walls, and her statement isn't necessarily something to take literally?

Yeah, that's what I meant. I mean 50 pounds on the Incredicoaster, could we dare to dream they'd add 50+ pounds to the castle?

You aren't missing anything. From the back half of the hub and beyond, the view is exactly the same. Those walls are only the height of people. It is only if you stand right next to the wall that you can't see over it.

That’s exactly what I mean. I’m the video, the imagineer referred to the castle as “she” and “her”. She just lost all cred with me. She’ll probably ruin the castle!
