I passed by this myself recently after hearing about it on the forums. I'm impressed with two things:

1. The amount of detail going in to a building for just one attraction. This isn't something that is lacking from their other rides or even from Disney, but it's well beyond what I was expecting.

2. How quickly it's getting done.

I love Disney and to be honest, I still prefer it over Uni (save for HP, which at the moment, holds the crown for best realized land ever). Regardless, you can't ignore this thing. Take notes, Disney.

I must be the only one not that impressed by the building. Yes, it is a lot of rock work and texture, but so far that hasn't done much to hide that it is a big box.

Sorry not on board with your comment. Lots of the Harry Potter stuff looks like old buildings in a city.

Not sure how you would build Kong much differently?

Harry Potter is set in old cities, so of course the buildings look like old buildings in a city. The image of an old wall isn't typically one that is perfectly perpendicular. And that is without getting into the painted flats on the upper part of the structure.

Trees are an attempt to hide something but they cannot change the forms themselves. There is also a whole chunk of the flats without scaffolding right above the entrance to the show building, what seems like it will be a rather prominent view.

The right side of the building definitely deviates from the dilapidated quality of the main gate area, but presumably the idea is that you won't be able to see much of that once they're done with the indoor queue's entrance and add trees. Worst case scenario, you still get a clear view of the incongruous portions of the facade from Pteranodon Flyers. Meh.

You can't see the queue's roof from the ground. This entire view is very different from what one would see from the ground.

I think the blue tarp just covers materials for storage, at the most it might be HVAC equipment but I think that is all further back.

My question is what is the flat topped rock in the center of the outdoor queue going to be?

If I understand the layout correctly most of that will all be backstage. I believe the beige building on the right in the last picture is the backside of the Thunder Falls Cafe. I think the only place you will be able to see that flat black wall will be on the walkway from Camp Jurassic to the Kong area. I would assume a couple of trees will hide most of it.

It is comparable or when finished perhaps a lot better than the Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT. There is so much go away plain show building when you walk by and stare at it for more than a second.
