That was in 1999 and one of the dumbest moves to have a carnival group just flat out dessimate it..I worked at SFGAM in the early years and you can slowly start seeing a degrading of theming and quality..Huh. For some reason, I sort of thought this had already happened, like a long time ago.
ETA: looked it up and I was thinking of when Premier bought Six Flags.
I don't think Dorney is going anywhere as they are getting a major investment next year. I do think they will sell off some of the other smaller parks. This is gonna go so poorly. And boy, Knott's in particular is probably going to have a bad time.
Plus, as i've seen a few people on social media point out, what happens when things go south? They start trying to monetize their assets. Look what happened with California's Great America. I have a feeling we're going to see an arrangement similar to how many of the casinos in Las Vegas are operating, where the land beneath the parks is spun off into an REIT with sale-leaseback agreements. The smaller regional parks like Dorney and Michigan's Adventure are really going to be hurting from this too, if they survive.
If they had got their hands on the Sea World parks a few years ago......Whoo boy then we would have has Sea World as Six Flags Orlando and Busch Gardens as Six Flags Tampa Bay..I was shocked when I heard this was actually happening…this is going to be a weird thing to watch over the next few years…
Probably Pepsi as Cedar Fair is going to be the one in controlIf they had got their hands on the Sea World parks a few years ago......Whoo boy then we would have has Sea World as Six Flags Orlando and Busch Gardens as Six Flags Tampa Bay..
Some other weird thoughts is that Cedar Fair parks were Pepsi Parks and Six Flags uses Coke so it will be interesting to see which side they go with.
I love it as it's a good possibility I will have a pass that includes all those parks. For our family who travels to parks every summer it is well worth it.Well folks, It happened..The merger has gone through and the new map was released showcasing the new logo for the company. I must say I do like the new logo giving nods to Cedar Fair's side of the company showing who has the higher share and who "Really" runs the parks..

It doesn't but at the same time your average American knows the Six Flags name. Most don't know Cedar Fair.I’m kind of surprised they went with the Six Flags name over Cedar Fair, or even a new name, I’ve always felt that Six Flags doesn’t have a very good reputation.
I'm wondering if they'll finally close the eyesore known as Great Adventure as it's just over 30 minutes awayI don't think Dorney is going anywhere as they are getting a major investment next year. I do think they will sell off some of the other smaller parks.
Since Cedar Fair is the going to be the one running things it will help the Six Flags parks. I find Cedar Fair parks are run much better for the most part.
No. That's one of their top parks. They just got a new coaster this year. They have some of the best coasters in the chainI'm wondering if they'll finally close the eyesore known as Great Adventure as it's just over 30 minutes away
True but, I still dislike the place with a burning passion. Locallyish of the bigger parks Hershey, Dorney then GA is the order I'd visit them in.No. That's one of their top parks. They just got a new coaster this year. They have some of the best coasters in the chain
