I had a great time yesterday. Seeing people dressed up was lots of fun, especially because a lot of girls made their own dresses and skirts with Disneyland-related prints. The strange thing was the day almost turned out like the exact day 60 years ago. It was hot and some things weren't turning out right. For example, Pirates kept stopping throughout the ride, Splash was down for quite a while, Thunder was down when we tried to ride, and one of the marionettes on Pinocchio wasn't moving whatsoever (that kind of scared me). Also, they ran out of maps! I wanted a fresh, crisp one, but no such luck. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Highlights of the day:

Seeing the legends out

Watching Robert Sherman and Ashley Brown perform"Feed the Birds"... Wow

The re-dedication in general

The photo spots

Re-citing the whole elevator scene of Mansion with my fellow Disneylanders

Singing and swaying to and fro to "Let's All Sing Like the Birdies Sing" with my dole whip float in hand with my fellow Disneylanders

Meeting another huge Disney history fan from Pennsylvania. He had just graduated high school and came out to California all by himself for the 60th. He was awesome, so I of course invited him to join our group for the rest of the day

Watching Disneyland Forever from the end of Main Street... Holy cow, was it way better from that viewpoint! The first time I saw it, I stood close to the castle... Not anymore. It's way more entertaining from Main Street.

Much better than WDW's 40th. Re-dedication ceremony was unbelievable. People around us cried when Richard Sherman came out. Plethora of pins, maps and cupcakes available. Literally force fed us the cupcakes. Greatly coordinated. Disneyland knows how to celebrate. Great day!!
I remember when WDW's previous anniversaries we're much bigger and very popular. Especially during the park's 15th and 20th Anniversaries.
