I've sat in the front car of the monorail one time, and I think that one time is plenty for me. We all know about the stench of the inside monorail cars.....well, the front car has the biggest concentration of that nasty, foul, armpit sweat smell. It was disgusting.

WARNING

Warning: Expect this privilege to end sometime in the near future. It has already ended at Disneyland due to new safety standards (basically, they don't want anyone hijacking the monorail), so it will probably end at Disney World, soon, due to the lawyers.

Personally, I doubt that will happen here at WDW.

I rode a good ten times or more, just cause my roommate used to drive the monorails when I was on the College Program from Jan-May of 02. I got the cool co-pilot cards everytime I went.

The stench that you smell in the front is caused by the greenhouse effect of the sun on the plastic window. the effect of the weather has also blured the plastic so it looks like the window is dirty. They can't park all of them in a climate controlled environment (Contemporary) over night.

Not really. The reason the window is all scratched up is from the night cleaning crew...

As for parking the trains, the only time parking them at the stations overnight is not good is when it gets close to freezing. The trains are very tempermental, and don't like that. That's the only reason they'll park four trains inside the Contemporary. Other than that, they're all good to go during normal weather times.

The smell is caused by the carpet glue... and gets worse during rainstorms when they get wet from peoples shoes. It of course doesnt help when someone pukes on them (or does something else, which does happen more than you think)

I really doubt that explains the entire odor. It's clearly a mix of things that definitely includes the b.o. of people unfamiliar with the concept of deodorant.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I mean you're either going to Epcot, MK, or one of the hotels. Hijacking???

I only rode up front once, but it was great. My sis-in-law was in the rest room so she didnt get to ride up front , she was stuck in the back with the parents. The driver was great, we had our camcorder with us so the driver constantly made fun of my sis for not being with us. We sang songs like the Brady Bunch theme and all kinds of Disney themes too. Lots of fun.
