Yes, thank you, I should have been clearer... I'm looking for a "peaceful" (lol-no such thing @ WDW) morning start for what I believe will be a busy, but ultimately fantastic, day! Thanks for all your help!
Captain's Grille has always been peaceful and quiet meal for us. We have always eaten from the buffet which is great food and they have a few upscale items to choose from other than the standard buffet choices (though as others have said, there is also a menu if you want). I think it would be a great choice for you and the back entrance is much easier to navigate than the crowd at the front entrance. If its a standard park day just get to the International Gate around 8:45 AM and you should be able to easily walk to either Soarin or Test Track for an early ride:)
We just left Epcot yesterday and are now "home" :(

I am a little late to recommend Captain's Grille, so I will just add pictures.

We always hit Chef Mickey's and then take the monorail on over to Epcot. That being said, most would picture "peaceful" as slowly sipping coffee and eating while quietly pondering what their day might hold or reflecting on the previous day. That is not what you get at Chef Mickey's :)

I will add to the list and recommend Captains Grille. It gives you the ability to order off the menu or choose to dine from the buffet where they will makes omelettes to order. It is also a nice easy stroll to Epcot after you are finished.

Maybe we will cross paths, we are down in WDW from Dec 10-17th.
