Single Parents, Only Children -- Rides?

Does anyone know if a child who can't ride can stay with a CM while their parent does? For example, if I want to go on RnRC, but my DS is not tall enough, can he wait for me somewhere safe or with a CM so that I can ride?

I know about the child/baby swap, but this does not apply to me as I'm a single mom.

If not, no worries -- this isn't our first time at the World, nor will it be our last! Just thought I'd check.

Thanks

A CM cannot watch your child for liability reasons. However, if your child is old enough and responsible enough (you didn't mention the age), he can wait for you somewhere near the exit of the ride (on a bench, in the gift shop, etc). I hate the Dinosaur ride at AK and I just wait on line with my parents, tell the CM that I'm not riding, and cross over the car to the exit side, and wait in the exit stairwell or up in the giftshop. Now, mind you, I'm a lot older than your son, I'm guessing (I'm 21 and I've been doing this since AK opened and I rode Dinosaur once and never again), but you get the idea. If your son is too young or irresponsible to wait alone, then unfortunately you're going to have to skip the rides he isn't tall enough to ride.

Ok, thanks. My son is 5, so he won't be waiting alone! It's been 6 years since I've ridden RcRC or ToT, so ... That's what I thought but you never know unless you ask :o

Yes, definitely don't let your five-year-old wait alone!!

If you want some time alone at the parks, you can look into the kids clubs at the resorts (like the Neverland Club at the Polynesian) or an in-room babysitter from an outside company. Do a search for it. Most kids seem to love the kids clubs at the resorts and don't want to leave!
