Single line abusers

Hey gang! I was at USO this morning and had to ride ROTM again. The single-rider line was practically empty...so...since I went alone...utilized the line. The first time I waited about 10 mins or so. Then, on the second trip, there was a FAMILY of five, including three kids, in front of me in the single line. When the attendant started putting people in the rows and the father saw that the family was not going to be able to ride together, he went off! He stood there and yelled at the guy and was saying he didn't understand why they couldn't ride together. Then the attendant told him.."Sir, your family came through the single rider line instead of waiting like everyone else. You should have known what line you were in before you came all the way up here. I'm sorry...you will either ride separately or you will have to take your family and start at the beginning of the other line." Everyone in my line clapped!

I HATE people who do that...the single rider line is just that...FOR SINGLE RIDERS...not families. Get a clue people!

Oh...BTW...the father split up the family. I didn't want anyone hanging on my last statement!

Funny because when my faimly (7 people) went through the single rider line for Jurrasic Park River Adventure, an employee said "you know you all will be separated?" and we said yes, and then they grouped us all together...

That didn't work on the Hulk because we all waited for front row.

I agree with you 110% those families that make a scene that is uncalled for is insane.........people are in such a hurry these days to ride everything in the park that they dont care who they offend or are disrespectful to........i usually go with my sister on the single rider line sometimes its better to go by urself......when we wanna ride with eachother we wait in the que.....

so it ROTM that good? I'll be there on the 26th so excited:sohappy:

I will be on ROTM in less than a week... But it is at the end of my trip. Most of the early stuff is at WDW. But at least I get to see what Mission Space is like with all 4 fuges running.

You know...I had only ridden ROTM once before at the advanced showing for AP holders and really didn't get a good look at the ride since it was all new. But now that I've ridden it several times, it's a real awesome ride (IMHO).

Have a great trip!

It seems like ROTM has a real problem with that single riders line. I've seen people in that line who just jump in front of everyone else at the junction point to loading for the stand-by line.

BTW....How long was the stand-by wait?

I don't remember what the sign out front said in terms of wait time but, I would guess probably an hour or more. The queue was just about out of the front door and that ride has a hell of a queue.

I know what you mean about people jumping into the line once they have a chance...I've seen it too...but it's something we're all going to have to live with. At least they have a single rider line.

We always use the single riders line, to ride quickly and separetely ofcourse, but quite a few times we've ended up seated together, once i was next to my dad on spiderman, same car as my brother, stuff like that. Even when i am alone, i normally ask the family with me if they've ridden before and stuff, have a conversation, great fun seeing people not knowing what to expect for rides!

Wow - alright Frees, my family of 3 does this ALL THE TIME. I don't see a problem considered if we all ride seperate anyway. We don't complain, we are very aware that we are going seperate. We use this alot more on MIB than any other ride. Familes can go if they want, doesn't matter. Doesn't mean they have to wait in the regular line. You go into the line knowing you are 100 % filler and the line can go slow or fast. Glad you hate people like that. aka * me *

Childish response CEO. As far as I'm concerned, as long as people realize that there's a good chance they won't be riding together, they ARE single riders. However, when families make a scene as this one did today, it makes you mad knowing full well they only did it to skip the line. But, the problem isn't going to be fixed so, all of the single riders will just have to grin and bear it.

BTW.....what's the latest on the Top Thrill Dragster? Have you been on that? I want to come to CP sometime because I love coasters!

Oh don't get full of yourself, I was being sarcastic. I really don't give a hoot if you like or hate me, I was just stating that many of us have families who do what they do. To say that you hate every family who does that is alittle off perspective.

That is my NUMBER ONE pet peeve of that ride (though riding in a car without audio is up there, too). It really puts me in a sour mood. Why don't they just add some netting or something underneath the handrails? Better yet, they could just close off the left branch of the standby line. Having the physical length of the line that much longer wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Some friends of mine went to Cedar Point last weekend. I'll see if any of them went on Top Thrill Dragster and will let you know what they say about it. I'm sure at least one of them was brave enough to do it.

As for the single rider line thing... there's sings when you enter the line saying "All parties may be separated." People need to learn to read. But when they're on vacation, they pretty much seem to just check their brain at the gate and pick it up when they get back.

When I went to Universal back in February with a couple friends, we used the single riders line for Men In Black 3 times in a row. We didn't care if we didn't ride in the same vehicle together or not. We just had a ball shooting at the aliens and spinning around!

And a few years ago I talked my dad into going on Test Track and we used the single riders line there too. He didn't mind us not riding together. He just wanted to see what I had been telling him about as he's a bit of a car freak.

MIB is way cool. What's your high score? I got my all time high today (183,375). I know that's probably low but, it's good for me.

The good thing about Single rider for MIB is that quite often you can end up competing against another member of your group, with them in the other vehicle and you get to shoot at them.

I think my all time high is about 250,000 but i always manage to get the red button!

Actually, when I visited during the day on Memorial Day (along with the AP event at night, I believe), they had the entrance to the single riders line roped off, and a crew member stood there. Every time a group of people came over to it, the CM told everyone to remember that they will be seperated. I thought it was an excellent idea, actually......are they still doing it?

WOW...talk about someone taking something completely out of context and twisting it around. He didn't say he had a problem with families in the single line...he said he had a problem with families that abuse the single rider line and complain when they get all the way to the ride and try to "fight their way" onto the ride together. Methinks you just wanted to start something.
