They visited Epcot? It seems Siemens were planning renegotiate and re sign. Something else made them change their mind.

damn gondolas ruining everything. They just poured a ton of money into automating it. Still isn't doing well.
It was a fleet of 12 new monorails, not just one.
For the record, I did not report that. The 'no conventions to be booked at Disney properties' as reported by @larryz kind of says the sponsorship talks ended badly.
The automation summit? It doesn't sound like some place they'd announce something like this...
"The annual Automation Summit is a user conference for manufacturing professionals who use Siemens automation technologies. Don't miss the opportunity to attend 50 user led presentations, participate in hands-on training, hear the latest product roadmaps, provide input during a feedback session, learn best practices from the Customer Excellence Award winners, ask questions to the technical experts in the Technology Café and enjoy a fun night networking with your peers. "

Well, they were successful at getting the auction scene changed in Pirates. My best friend's sister's boyfriend heard from this guy who talked to this girl who heard from a bus driver who read on Twitter that Disney insisted that Siemens change their name to "Sie-persons" in order to continue their sponsorship, because Disney does not want to offend any guest of any gender visiting WDW, but Siemens refused.
any chance they would revisit the scrapped 2007 tomorrows child ending as part of an overhaul down the road sponsor or no sponsor?
Bob Chapek....Well, they were successful at getting the auction scene changed in Pirates.
If the screens were removed, how much would it cost to replace the triangles and curtains with some decent lighting effects or something else better than what is there now. 250-500k? A million? Even if they kept the screens would it really be that expensive to fix the descent so that if someone looks away from the screen, its not embarrassing?
For the record, I did not report that.
Ah, another 'expert' observation and yet you couldn't even google without all the details on a silver platter to put into the search engine? It came out in an emailed letter to staff, they announced it to their staff at the convention ahead of the announcement. Successful firms communicate so the staff are not blindsided during a convention that media is also attending. Communications 101. With firms as large as Siemens they cannot reschedule a convention because of a termination announcement. The world doesn't always revolve around Disney World.
Now what did I do?Fixed that it was actually Gabe1
Ha! off would sum it up. I want to be the fly on wall as corporate explains this fauxpa to the board and shareholders. So short sided. That said from the tone of that announcement it sounds like the Disney/Siemens relationship ended really badly.
Which kind of makes sense because siemens was offering a new fleet of monorails to replace the clapped out Monorails with their hacked together Thales automation system and all they wanted was their name on it and Disney has not been averse to branding in the recent past and Siemens was a perfect fit for EPCOT as they are a diversified tech firm. Based on this i think monorails at WDW are likely to be a thing of the past soo ner than later.

Disney is bigger than Siemens, but your point is still valid.Like I've been saying there is something WRONG at Disney most companies would have jumped for joy at an opportunity like this to solidify a long running partnership.
Yet Disney not only says no, But did so in a manner which apparently snubbed the Siemens BoD to the point where doing buisiness with Disney is now verboten. which is actively stupid as Siemens is many times Disneys size and influence
As to the BoD as long as the buybacks continue and the RSU's keep flowing its all good.
Anyone remember the SANTA FE & Disneyland Railroad or the Disneyland-ALWEG Monorail. This fallout with Siemens is just stupid on so many levels. What if Disney is getting a good deal on autonomous cars from some company and that company didn't want another company to have their brand name on any kind of automated vehicles at the park?
