The thing that drives me crazy is I've been taking Airborne for days so I wouldn't get sick!
Airborne is just vitamins. You'd be better off take a Centrum or similar.

Yes, I've been sick at WDW. Had the flu, lol. Misery.

Get well soon!!

My first trip to Disneyland (I was 6) I found out I had the CHICKENPOX the day before we went!! But I went anyway :) I don't remember very much but that was 20 years ago. I do remember I wore the same dress the whole time because it was cool and not itchy :p

Feel better!! My family and I just came back from WDW and both my mom and my boyfriend got terribly ill. My boyfriend had some sort of stomach virus, and my mom had (still has!) a bad upper respiratory infection. I hope you feel better by tomorrow!! Make sure to keep washing your hands if you touch anything outside your room :) there must be something going around

Hahaha! I haven't left my room since urgent care! But I promise to wash my hands! ;) I'd bet I have whatever your boyfriend had. I hope your mom feels better!

I hope you feel better soon. It really stinks to be ill in Disney. Back on our trip in Feb 2009 I woke up the second day there with a horrible sore throat and swollen glands. Had to go to the hotel shop and get some cepacol lozenges and some cold meds. Like everyone else has said keep drinking that water and I hope you feel better soon! :)

Yes!! When I was very little, on our second trip to Disney World as a family, I got sick along with my brother and sister. I must have been about 6, which would have made my brother 7 and my sister about 4. Now, as an adult, I don't know how my parents did that! My sister got sick on the way to Disney, and then Eli and I got sick once we were there. We still went, I guess because we were already on our way when this all started to go down, and my parents ended up having to dole out medicine the entire trip. Even I remember that being the worst Disney vacation we ever went on. Hope YOU get to feeling better! :(

I hope that you get better extraordinarily soon, @vitani88.

If being sick stinks, then being sick on vacation smells like a dead rat under the porch.

In answer to your question, yes, I've gotten sick at WDW. I once contracted the flu while there. My daughter was still fairly young, so I gave it the old college try and went out every day as though I wasn't half-dead, with the other half on life support. It was miserable, but sometimes you've got to do things for the sake of others. I pray that my daughter will marry a rich and generous guy, remember her dear father's loving sacrifices, and take me places while lavishing me with gifts.

Nope, no IV. :( He gave me a prescription for nausea pills and told me to drink Gatorade and avoid solid foods til tomorrow. He said its viral because he hasn't had anyone else complaining of food poisoning.

The nausea pills work great, so take them and drink plenty of fluids! I have to take anti-nausea meds when I'm pregnant b/c I get hyperemesis (a kind way to say I have morning sickness at all times), and they work like a charm. Hope you're feeling better.

I have lucked out - the worst I have had to battle is a cold.... I know I should pack the good cold pills before my trip, but I never do [guess I feel I would jinx myself] and then have to suffer with whatever I can find in the gift shops....

I do bring stuff in case my stomach gives me trouble, but thankfully I haven't needed them on any of my trips...

Other friends have gotten sick but never to the point where we had to go to urgent care (thankfully).

Hope you are feeling better - bad enough to be sick, but to be sick on vacation is twice as bad.

Yikes. You must have given the chickenpox to so many kids. The vaccine wasnt being used too much then and chickenpox is contagious until the very last vesicle crusts over. Haha.

You're in good company as you can see...it happens A LOT. My DH has gotten sick on every trip except for the one we just came back from. I also pack a survival bag with every medicine for every illness-just in case. But the first trip he got the worst case of pink eye I've ever seen-even from our kids! No meds packed for that. Had to call the family doctor to call a script into a local drug store. Now my survival bag also includes conjunctivitis drops--JUST IN CASE! The rest of the trips have been stomach, sinus, etc. He spent lots of time hanging at our resort while the kids and I went commando at the parks. So this last trip, our son took the jinx and had horrible motion sickness for the last few days. The poor kid spent the entire flight home with his face in a bag. On the positive side, he still wants to go back!

On one trip when my kids were younger. My daughter had a virus the day before we flew. She felt better on our travel day. Then for the next three days in WDW the rest of us got sick. I got it Sunday. My Son Monday And My Wife Tuesday We were staying at the VWL in a 2 BR it made being sick bearable because we could seperate from the rest of the family when it was our turn to be sick for the day.

After that trip I always wondered how good of a job housekeeping does cleaning to gaurd against the next family getting sick.

So I'm currently sitting at Buena Vista Urgent Care. I'm pretty sure Raglan Road poisoned me last night. Since I woke up I've been unable to make it 10 feet without sweating through my clothes and feeling the need to vomit (but not doing it). Anyway, I'm here now begging for drugs. Anyone else been sick at Disney? I never realized this could happen!
SO SORRY! Hoping you feel better soon. I've never been sick there, but DH ended up in the hospital once :(

Ended up with colds on my last 2 trips to WDW! On the 09' trip I had a cold for a while that I couldn't shake. Last year I think I got it from the plane ride. I ended up sick the last 3 days of our 7 days. It stunk because I really couldn't taste some of the food that I really wanted to try!
