Shula's VS. Yachtsman Steakhouse

my sister went to shula's about 2 years ago and couldn't stop talking about it. i think what you'll find is that with the dining plan being so popular many people don't get over to shula's. i've read on these boards that a lot of people prefer yachtman's to le cellier anyway.

I have not been to Shulas in a few years, but I have it slightly better than the Yachtsman Steakhouse. In my opinion, you really can't go wrong either way though.

I can go to Shula's at home (and dont) and since its not apart of the DP I will go with the Yachtsman. But we are skipping it this comimg trip. Its an every other trip choice!!!!

SHULAS's hands down... thats a world class steak. I have never been to the one in Orlando but I have enjoyed the steaks in DC. I believe they have since closed down the DC restaurant, oh well.

From what my parents have told me when they ate there a couple years ago, it sounds like Shula's is definetely the place to be for a nice dinner. Be warned if you pay for a party of 15+ plus though, my uncle ended up paying $1200 on wine and other drinks..

ok... since its ala carte you have to be prepared for the following:

if you're eating meat the smallet cut (petit filet) will run you roughly 37 dollars. Add on roughly 10-12 for other cuts (NY strip, add a little more if its dry aged, Porterhouse, Filet Mignon, Prime Rib etc etc etc)

sides are 10 dollars, give or take 1-2

and wine... its EXPENSIVE and a nice markup

At the end of the night you are talking 75-100 a head, easy.

Close - plan on a $200 dinner for two. And TIW is "Tables in Wonderland" - 20% off all your food & wine, fixed 18% gratuity. You can only get TIW if you are an AP or Florida Resident.

I wasn't really including a fine wine choice... the cheapest glass on the menu keeps you in that range. My days at smith and wollensky are over until the economy picks itself up.
