I think they should remake them. They could look alot better. I dont get the same feel when I watch the older ones any more because of the new ones. What do you guys think?

I say don't touch them! Sure, the effects (and acting :lookaroun ) could be better, but you'd lose the charm.

And I would never accept a different Han Solo :p

God no! Yes, the graphics and special effects in 4, 5 and 6 could be improved if they were remade, but no one could be Han Solo but Harrison Ford, same with Luke, Leia, Obi-Wan, etc. Plus, Episodes 1, 2, and 3 were such a disappointment.

You can NOT remake those films

Leave them alone! Just because something can be done, doesn't mean it should be. Remakes are rarely as good as the originals.

I'm never gonna get the lasting appeal of Star Wars.

I respect George Lucas for being an innovator (sound, special effects, etc.) But, as a writer/director, he really isn't that talented. The best star wars film (Empire Strikes Back) wasn't even directed by him.

That being said. Should they remake the trilogy? HECK NO! And, it won't ever happen. I would bet a million dollars that the ORIGINAL trilogy is never remade (at least within the next 100 years ;))

No! Episode III was the only new Star Wars that I thought was acceptable. The acting in the new movies was not very good. Hayden Christensen did not make a very convincing Anakin, IMO (his character portrayal was very flat). Also, I really like the old feel of Star Wars where everything wasn't done by computer. I know that the new movies would take forever to film without computer graphics and those elaborate sets are just not possible to construct, but there is a real quality in the effects and sets of the old movies that can't be replaced. I would love to see it continue though!

I would have to disagree. Unfortunately, Christensen and Lucas' screen play brought down what would should have been an excellent cast. With what they had to work with, they did a fairly good job. The bright spots were certainly Ian McDermid as the Emperor.

Ian McDermid did do a good job as the Emperor and so did some of the other characters, but with a film that is as huge as Star Wars then surely the casting directors could have found someone better than Christensen to portray Anakin. Also, I'm a fan of Natalie Portman's and she made Padme one of my least favorite characters.

I agree that Natalie Portman played a horrible Padme. Ewan Mcgregor played a great Obi Won. Hayden Christensen was ok as Anakin but who else could have played that role. Nobody I can think of can play that role. Lucas was put in a bad spot of picking an actor or Anakin but I think he mad an ok decision. I thought the computer graphics were awesome I wish they would do it to the old ones. I wonder what 7 and 8 would be about???????

Well, I'm not the expert my friend is, but basically, Luke becomes a Jedi Master and starts his own Jedi Temple, and the Emperor comes back...and of course, there's also Thrawn:lol:

No, he is the Grand Admiral of the Imperial Fleet...I think...

I think the timeline for post Ep. VI is:

Clone Palpatine retakes Coruscant, but is eventually defeated.

Thrawn brings together the remnants of the Imperial Fleet (and a cloned dark jedi) to fight the Republic.

Thrawn loses and then is banned from WDWmagic.com

How 'bout remaking Episodes I, II, and III with a new script and director? I think a lot of the wooden acting can be blamed on Lucas's script and direction.

I actually liked Padme in the first two movies. I thought she had a purpose, had a backbone and Portman did a nice job. One of the bright spots in the first two as far as I was concerned. But in Episode III, the writing for her character was abysmal. She basically became a whining, sniveling, sissy of a token female-type character. A complete waste of film. I was so disappointed.

Oh, and Hayden Christensen is just a horrible actor. Please. There is no way he could be the Darth Vader from Episode IV.
