Should the entrance sign, billboards, and traffic signs in Walt Disney World get a new design?

I took the DME for the first time last month so I don't know if this is a common thing, but my bus driver started singing "When You Wish Upon a Star" as we approached the gate.
We took the DME during my Senior Trip, I wish our driver did that. Than again it was raining that day for the first few minutes.

At the moment, the signs need to be left alone, but perhaps when things are completed at DHS and such, then they can focus on the "little things" I guess.

I'm not opposed to some kind of upgrade. I mean, I've been going to WDW since before the Maingate archways were in place and those are a perfect example of something newer...something that was never there for a chunk of my trips starting from the mid 80s...and yet I love them. I do, however, like the current signage and would only want to see them changed if they were augmented in some way from their present state. I'd want certain familiarity aspects to remain intact, but I guess just plus them a few steps further. Still, if it's between sinking $ into new signs vs. attractions, restaurants, resorts, etc. - we can just leave the signs the way they are.

Like I've said before, I like the signs. They're a way of letting you know the world you're now in is colorful, fun and unlike anything else.

The only thing is that I wish they would take down that castle and "Dreams Come True" sign from the arch. It's like they think Magic Kingdom's the only park that matters...

I do like the road signs being different colors than normal street signs.

I agree that it shows you are now in the Disney "bubble" as someone else put it!

They do need to be upgraded, maybe with the logos of everything!

This comes down to a particular discussion we had on our most recent trip (just got back the other day). I may start a topic on it.

Nostalgia vs Wow factor

Many things we hold at WDW like the signage were put there for a wow factor. They were stunning. Today they are like a bowl of warm soup on a cold day. They bring back memories and happiness and comfort. Do they "wow" new people? Younger people? I'm guessing they don't.

The signage to me could use an upgrade perhaps. The arch replaced with something even bigger and over the top perhaps. If the imagineers of 1971 were working on this now, what would they implement? That's the place WDI needs to be and tries to be today no doubt.
