I agree with a update of the line, It needs to be longer and fix it so it doesn't just streach out into tomorrow land. It They should fix the SMTV thing, it is old and needs updating. But i think the ride itself is allright, Dosn't need updating yet, However, their is that rumor of updating DL's SM into more like DLP's SP. for the parks 50th aniversary. WDW's should be fixed up into an original thing. Keep it like it is, then modify it for WDW's 40th or 35th aniversary. By the way, sorry for all the mis spellings

Its true

Disneyland Paris's SM is way better than WDWs version - but to change it is a huge job ad would take several years to complete

so I guess they wont - they will just "tart" it up and slap in a new VHS.

I guess any new rides in MK will be of the similar design to DLP version but themed or maybe even different - after all RnR is the same technology as DLP SM!

Space Mountain's Queue is my favorite. I love everything about it. The Star music is awesome, the 3D holograms and the LONG, DARK walk. AND, the little McD's/Burger King playpen balls right at the bottom, right when you enter and go down the steps(at least I think they are). I like it the way it is.

The only thing I would change are those stupid tv's. The whole "SMTV" is just too much and takes away from the Space Mountain experience. The rest I wouldn't touch, I love the long walk down the queue. It gets me pumped!

Though I love Space Mountian as it is right now...some new changes in the queue could be cool..and make SM fit in better with the rest of Tomorrowland. But I agree...the music must stay!
On what was said about a total re-do of the inside of SM... when I was a CM I heard the same thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if it meant a TOTAL revamp of SM shortly after Mission:Space opens. Some cosmetic changes for the present could and probably should happen...but once Mission:Space comes up we could see a 6-12 month renovation/re-do of Space Mountian towards what Disney has in Paris. Its just another step to compete with Universal...think of all the press for a new version of the ride and the many guests it could re-attract to Disney.

Heading for the great escape.
Maybe they could add dry ice coming out of the ceiling and walls to the walk up the ramp, I think that would have a cool effect.

I think it would definately have the effect of cooling overheated guests:cool:

That's because if the queue are was opened up inside, that would destroy the purpose of fastpass. All of sudden, instead of a 10 minute wait, fastpass would be a 20-30 minute wait. That's not very "fast."

old disney

Although I love the look of SM now, since the changed the rest of Tomorrowland the need to bite the bullet and update SM. Its like a throwback to old disney, so I'll still be sad to see it change.

I'd like to see the whole line design re-done.....

Picture this...you walk into the darkness of the tunnel, except it's different. The floor is clear...under the plexiglass floor would be fiberoptics that swirl and move and dance underneath you. (that or maybe little twinkling "stars" to make you feel like you're in space already. Above are small dark purple lights that move up and down the tunnel. Not enough to light the whole thing up, but enough to light patches up. These lights would change colors as you go through the tunnel. Replace some of the holograms with computerized displays (kinda like you'd see in star trek). They could even be touch screens hooked up to actual computers that you could play with a bit.

Every so often, there could be a huge rumbling and all of a sudden the tunnel would be filled with red light...the sound of the "starcrew" scrambling and shouting could be heard. A few seconds later, the regular lighting comes back on.

Thought it'd be cool and entertaining.

That would be cool except that the TTA is above you when you are walking that tunnel.

I love the look of the old futuristic stuff. I would hate to see them redo it. Maybe turn the skyway building into an added queue line area to be openned when the lines get long. That would be the only thing really needed to keep those long lines interesting.

The only thing I don't like about SM is the loud clackety-clack noise of the roller coaster chainlift. Maybe a new system to replace the classic chain to something else. It's too loud and spoils the atmousphere you are about to enter.

All they would have to do is reconfigure the queue some so that the Standby lines go down and splits between the tracks.

Fastpass could also split between the two sides, and they have Standby/FP merge points for each side.

All would have to do, is station someone where they merge now, and stop the standby line long enough so that Fastpass people can cross over to get the Left side fastpass line.

Wow, I thought of something awesome for the queue, I know this will never happen, but it would be sweet.

Ok you walk into the tunnel and it is mostly the same as it is now, but there would be space scenes above you on the ceiling also, as you go around a corner, the tunnel seems to twist a little to the side, so you feel like you are walking on a wall and occasionally on a window, then, you go around another corner and it twists again, so you are standing on the glass ceiling, which is now the floor. I guess it probably wouldn't work out, but if it did, it could give you an awesome outerspace zero gravity type effect.

Space Mountain's queve should NEVER be changed. It's an original ride that's too perfect to ever be changed. It's too big a change for me and I've been on it 70 times in my lifetime. I hope it stays the way it is....otherwise....I'll  .

WDW....17 weeks and 2 days to go....:D
