bethymouse, thanks for the mention of Dutch Wonderland. granted we have a skyway ride, most goes over areas that guests are not walking in and one of 2 longest rides in our park. granted we are not nearly as big as MK but we also have Dolewhips.

You're welcome! Dutch Wonderland is a classic. We were there in 1969 when I was a baby and it is just so nostalgic! I wish the old swan boats were back!:) I think WDW had swan boats @ 1 time too!:) it's a bit more expensive now though since it is run by Hersheypark now!:(

Peter Pan, a new Peter Pan ride updated. Flying out of the window and over Fantasyland, then back inside to complete the dark ride portion. Update the dark ride as well. Old and not worth the wait. I only ride it if the wait is short. I would def wait for an updated PP.

great idea

Hersheypark in Pa. still has a "skyway"! So does Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, Pa. These parks are"old", but they keep up w/ the new as well. Their skyways are the open ones w/ feet dangling.:) Hersheypark has theirs going over water.:)

I like the gondola type Sky rides personally. Most parks have phased them out.:(

Doubtful if Disney will bring it back.:dazzle:

Knoebels Grove has one as well. Which goes over an area where ther are no people. You can spit all you want.

Wait! Dutch Wonderland has Dolewhips? Are you serious? I live about 30minutes from there.

dole whips at Dutch Wonderland is to your left as you enter the gates, cross the train tracks, walk pass the space shuttle and you will see yellow dole whip stand. about a minute walk if you do not have to wait for the train.

I voted yes, but would like to see it not so high as where you can see behind everything. Maybe a sailing ship from the new LM to PotC? It would make sense all the way because ships are based in all the lands involved. FLE, AL, FL.

Are there spitting problems at Blizzard Beach (though I suppose you're not actually above people for that much of that trip)

Really?

I find it extremely curious that we're haing this conversation. The skyway is a low-rent, generic amusement park attraction with minimal theming flexibility.

Is anyone really yearning for a ride over the gum-covered roofs of Fantasyland? Do we have serial criminal expectorators on the board?

When I was a teenager in the late 70's, a friend was bragging that he was going to smoke a joint on the skyway. After he waited almost an hour in line, he had to share the ride with an old woman and her grand daughter. No dope for him!:D

Both the skyways at Disneyland and World had deaths attributed to them..and serious accidents..so Im sure that will forever keep them down.

But on that note..

20,000 leagues under the sea.....thats an interesting story

There's no way it's every coming back, at least in any form resembling what it was. It did provide phenomenal transportation. You could cut right through one of the most densely occupied areas of the park and end up over by Space Mountain. Or, reverse it to the Fantasyland/Liberty Square border? Awesome.

Now you're trapped on foot and completely screwed. Even the train can't help you.

Ummm...I never saw the skyway in MK in person, but from photos I personally think it takes away from the theme, especially behind Cinderella Castle. Would you rather pay $90 per person to see a brilliant castle with lush trees around it with a blue (when a Florida pop-up shower doesn't happen) sky making it absolutely dreamy (dream come true)...or pay $90 to get into the most magical place on Earth to see a force-perspectified castle with colorful buckets of people floating through the air ruining the illusion? NO. Besides...with the skyway and new Fantasyland, why do you want to wait an hour in line to see the Be Our Guest and LM huge show buildings. It would DEFINITELY ruin the illusion with the Beast's Castle IMO.

Well maybe your friend should've invited grandma and the little girl to smoke along. Hey, these were the seventies...:lookaroun
