Should I start planning now?

I want to take DS (8) and DD (2 1/2) to WDW in late July. I was trying to wait for a miracle to happen...maybe a special rate would pop up or something like that;) . Should I just go ahead and start planning/paying for our trip? There is so much going on in my head that I don't know where to begin!:hammer:

Well I would certainly think about planning for it at very least. That alone can take a while especially if you havent been there much or not at all! As far as paying for your trip...the answer to that one is slightly more complex. Id say get a price quote certainly so you know somewheat what you are dealing with. Beyond that you can do one of several things. Book with KingdomKonsultant (we are the Travel Sponsors for WDWMagic) and if a special comes up that you are eligible for, we will automatically switch you over. If you book through Disney directly, they will do the same but ONLY If you call up and ask for it. I dont know any other agencies that automatically do that so be careful who you deal with!!! Hope this helps!! Belle

Don't forget, Mousesavers.com is a wonderful thing.

I would definately start planning though.
Dont forget Mousesavers only provides information. They dont book your trip for you, nor would they get your reservation changed over if a new offer is released. That is the major difference. Belle

Yes, I would start planning now. We just picked our dates for this August, and will book our flights and lodging this week. It seems like you get better deals the further in advance you book if you're not booking through or staying at Disney.

If you're set on July, it's not likely you will get any further "specials" from Disney if you wait, and you may even have trouble getting the room you want.

If you were going in the fall, like September or October, you may want to wait until mid summer to see what they offer for that slow time of year.

Hope this helps.

I dont know if I agree with this statement. Airfare is a very funny thing and can go up or down at any moment. That is traditionally based on trends of people flying, price wars between competing airlines, oil prices, the way the wind blows. OK Maybe not the last one but it certainly is very fluid. I have gotten better deals at times waiting until I was a bit closer to my actual trip but usually not under 60 days.
As far as Disney, specials for July havent been released yet. I cant say that they will be released, if they do release them what type of discount it will be or anything else. I also cant guarantee that if a discount is made available that it will be available at the resort that you want on the dates you want. Hence the idea of getting a price quote now to have some idea as to a price ranges for the hotels you want. That having been said Disney has historically put out some form of discounts for most points through the year. Belle

i would start planning there is so much to plan when you take young kids. i started planing a year ahead and still haven't booked my hotel yet. although i would watch the airline and grab the first good fare you see try jetblue, song, or i also found i great search engine for finding the lowest fair its sidestep download it and give it a try it is great. when you have kids it's best to get as much info on every park and thing you do it makes things go easyer hope this helps
and have a great time

I have to agree that you should be planning now, but, as Belle said, airfare can be a little more difficult to predict. We've got great deals flying on Southwest, but often those deals come up only a month or so before your flight. If you sign up for their "Ding" program, there are specials every day, and you just have to keep checking with them for the right destination.

I would go ahead and book your hotel however, since July tends to be very busy down there. Many people on this forum use Kingdom Konsultants, so don't be afraid to give them a call!

Have a magical vacation!:animwink:

The instant I know our budget will allow a trip to WDW, I start planning. There's so much to plan, that it's good to get an early start. It's a lot of fun, too!

What are you waiting for?!?! You are already falling behind!!

You must plan every minute detail, every minute of each day spent at WDW. You should start with the exact amount of time spent sleeping - although real hardcore Disney people never sleep at WDW. Next, how many bathroom breaks each member of your family needsm, and reduce that by 1/2. Duration: 30 seconds max, if at all. Breakfast: 5 minutes. Lunch 10 minutes. If they can't keep up the pace, then they must be left behind.

Good Luck!
Tac, you are terrible!!!! Let's not scare the poor young lady!!! Belle

I say plan now too. My sister and her family are meeting me at WDW in February. They booked their package about six months ago and it has been paid in full for several weeks. A few weeks ago I read here about an upgrade to the Magic Your Way plus package that was being offered. My sister called CRO and asked about it. They gave her the special offer AND told her that the pricing had gone down on her visit, so she has a $200+ credit already on her room charge!

From everything I've ever seen WDW is very good about extending specials to people who ask.

I already have my dates set for September, then I will go from there. Good luck.

Sounds like the "Dumbo-or-Die-In-A-Day" plan.
