Should I attempt a solo trip?

I did a solo trip to WDW in Dec. 09. Absolutely loved it! Did what I wanted, went where I wanted, ate what I wanted, didn't have to wait for anyone. Took my time and watched all the street performers in DHS (had never done that before), made good use of the single rider lines, all in all had a great time. Saved a lot of money, too, just paying for one! LOL! Was ready for some company by about the 5th day, but by then I was heading home. I would do it again in a heartbeat (looks like I'm on track for a solo trip to DL in 2014 on my way back from Japan!)

Solo trips are not for everyone. Some people can handle the perks and enjoy it like me. Others who are very social, probably not. It really depends on you. The best advice I give is that your overall safety is most important but I mean, there are some common sense universal guidelines for any solo traveler who is traveling..well anywhere. I won't go into detail about that because it's relatively easy to look up info. But solo trips are enjoyable. You can eat whatever you want, ride whatever you want, set your own schedule, you know the drill. I would think that this solo trip, assuming you would follow through with your plans, would hopefully make amends for how awful the June trip was.

I'd love to take a solo trip. I love the people I go with, but sometimes I never get to do what I want because we don't always share the same interests. I'm always forced to skip something because nobody else wants to do it.

I'd just like to be able to go at my own pace, and not have to worry about others opinions for once.

I would be worried about getting lonely after a couple days, though.

YES... do it to experience Disney in a different way. At first you might feel strange because the family isnt along. You will miss sharing those rides and exciting moments with them but after a while you will adjust and have a blast. Freedom to go and do what you want, no fights, arguments, discussions of what to do. Youre on your own to explore at your own pace. Risk trying things youve never done. Meal time might be lonely but still can be made enjoyable with a book or converse with the table next door. I've done it, I liked it at the time but came way better appreciating the time I have with the family along.

That's what I was thinking. I was just wanting to visit my friend out in California since she moved there several years ago. She visits DL regularly, and I'd love to meet up w/ her and also visit my friend who lives in LA.;)
