Oooo that's a tough call there.
He's blind?!?!?!!

He was good too
Well, he's not 100% blind. But they've described his sight as if you looked through a straw...that's what he sees. Which is not alot.

See, that would seem to be a good thing, but around here when it gets slow we tend to get a bit nervous.

Speaking of which, looks like there's going to be another round of layoffs on Monday :dazzle::dazzle:

what are you talking about.. The market rallied yesterday, Citi reported a profit, BoA said they didn't really need bailouts, and they bought Merrill which owns you guys right? All is well, the depression is over, back to large mortgages, high CC balances and big spending... right?

 They're still doing layoffs Monday. And, yet, HR has been having a bootie-load of interviewees in over the past couple of weeks. Makes no sense.

yeah, its still going to be bad for a while. I was kidding. I wonder if you are protected since you are pregnant? Like they fear that you could consider that discrimination?

How so?

(this ought to be interesting)
Well, my baby book says that baby can hear enough now for me to start playing music to him. So I put my iPod earbuds against my belly last night to test it. Struggled w/ which song to play so I started w/ something soft...no response. So I played him some Bon Jovi and, bless his heart, he was either kicking or giving me some good fist pumps in there. I'm going w/ the fist pumps :D

Nope, not protected. I think they have ways around the discrimination thing. In the first round of layoffs they layed off a girl who was pregnant. Not sure how they worked out her package but they must've done something so she wouldn't sue. But it does make me feel like I could be on the chopping block. I mean in 3 1/2 months they're going to have to be paying me to not be here. And it makes me wonder if these interviewees have been temps that they're interviewing to hire on in place of some of the administrative roles. Cheap labor w/out having to pay benefits. Scary....:dazzle:

I'd go for 3 years salary and benefits.... that ought to work as a package to leave right?

 I'm under DH's benefits now anyway. They're waaaay better than mine were and his company covers 100% of it....mine was taken out each paycheck.

We had a temp working here w/ us for awhile who had just been layed off her job and she was about 5-6 months pregnant. They gave her severence plus her maternity pay.

so if you weren't planning on going back... then maybe that wouldn't be a bad thing?
