Shooting the Breeze with our Magic Friends

Hello All!

Back from the doctor. Baby is healthy and gaining wait and somehow I am losing weight. I lost 2 lbs since last week bringing my grand total to 4 lbs gained and baby weighs about 3.5

Had another ultrasound today. Baby is now breech. The dr said there is still a good chance of flipping, but no way to see if it's a boy or girl. Silly baby making this difficult on me!

Thanks dear...I think it cost about the same...I'm still looking into it, but it's not looking good this time. :(

Ah foo :(

Speaking of Disney...I got my May vacation approved at lunch today with work. :sohappy: Good thing, I already paid the deposit.

Yay! that would have been a sticky situation otherwise :lookaroun

Ooo that looks like a good one. The one that was recommended to me that I got is that Baby Name Wizard? It's really good and gives really good suggestions for sibling names for each name. So as not to end up w/, say, an Andy & Mandy :p

i liked the name wizard too. But the book categorizes names into all these unique sections - different syllables, always in fashion, cutting edge, ethnicity... I found it so much easier to read than just a list in alphabetical order

I am still trying to squeeze in coming to the shower too, with my trip being moved up.

Double yay! :sohappy:

Un oh... still plenty of time to get that little one moving though. But Aaargh! for not finding out still! How frustrating!

Is that 4 pounds TOTAL since you got pregnant???? Um...:lookaroun

Oh, and I left you a message with everyone, but since I'm still here, I checked your registry - do NOT get a single pump! Go double! I cannot imagine having to pump with a single. Soooooo much more work!!! It's expensive, I know, but it's worth it when you're sleep deprived and another 20 minutes per side seems like an indefinitley long time.

Still??? Goodness, you have a baby of mystery!

Yeah, I think there's still time for it to flip. They can tell how much the baby weighs?? Hmm. I've never had them tell me how much mine weighs. I supposed I've never asked either.

If we DO go w/ Asher or any other "A" name, we have to be careful of the middle name so he doesn't have obscene initials :lookaroun

:ROFLOL::ROFLOL:Yes, don't pick Stephen....although I like that as a first name. :)

Got to go pick up my named-after-a-small-book-in-the-old-testament son. :D Toodles!

Baby weight is VERY subjective. They told SIL that she had an 11 pounder at one point!! He ended up being 6 and change

Yeah, I have been looking the past couple days and I think I can make it cost wise- fine. But I have a friend who lives in York, PA and I should really see her too while I am in her neck of the woods so I am trying to figure out timing too.

York's only 20 minutes north of me

I was hoping to get the single and just not open it until I see how the baby does with feedings. I figure that if it looks like I'll need to pump a lot I'll return it and get the double. My SIL was able to get away with the single because both of her kids want nothing to do with a bottle.

They take some measurements during the ultrasound to pretty much guess at the weight.

That is quite a difference!

If you're going to do that, try renting first. A lot of places have weird return policies on pumps because of their hygenic nature. Hopefully you'll be blessed with a good nurser, unlike my little one. But honestly, if I had to do it all over again, I may just choose to pump over going naturally. Honestly it was WAY easier to pump ahead of time and just give a bottle when she needed it. It was a ton extra work, don't get me wrong (read my many posts about my love/hate relationship with the pump on the blog) but it did make getting out of the house easier.

Bye Jenny! {{hugs}} again

You want my input on Lanolin creams too? how about nursing pillows?
:lookaroun

Funny thing about those, though. At the maternity store I shop at, they have a tester of that by the register....and it's always about 1/2 gone. Always makes me wonder.... :dazzle: :lookaroun

Why on earth would they have nipple cream as a tester? Gross.

I think Babies R Us rents pumps, as well as your hospital. Also, try the one in your room first to see how it all goes. It's nice to have someone show you the ropes before you're released back into the wild. Just don't rent too long- otherwise you'll have "bought" a pump without buying one.
