Just curious, i have seen people talk about shipping themselves items to waltdisney world resorts. I seem to remember that at the different parks if I were to by something that would be hard to get on the plane, they would ship it back to your home. I could be wrong and if this has been discussed in a different thread sorry for the new one, I looked briefly but did not see anything. Thank YOu

Yup! And shipping fees are calculated by dollar amount not weight. So if your planning on doing this buy as much at the same place as possible.

I don't know what resort you are staying at but if you're staying at one with a conference center (ie. Contemporary or Grand Floridian, I know there are others too) you can always ship stuff home from the business services desk in the conference center. We stayed at the Contemporary in December. One night we bought some stuff from World of Disney and shipped it from the store to our home. I don't remember how much it was exactly but I know it was sorta high considering what we were shipping. I think it was some picture frames and stuff. Anywhoo, the last day of our trip we heaved 4 big bags full of junk down to the business services desk and sent everything home via FedEx. All that stuff was shipped for less than the 1 shipping charge we had at World of Disney. If at all possible, I'll use the business services FedEx option from now on. It was much more reasonable on the cost.

I have shipped breakables home, like snowglobes. They are very good about it and it is nice to recieve a package after you get home...like a little piece of Disney.:)

I have shipped many items to my hotel rooms from the parks, too. If you have a couple more days left at the resorts, you'll be able to do that. Otherwise, you can pick it up at the front of the park. They used to deliver it right to your room, but now they deliver it to the gift shop and you can pick it up there. They'll leave you a voicemail on your room phone when it is in.

I buy ornaments from the DTD every year and if I go all out I have them shipped home, I really found that it is not too expensive, anyways, one year when I received my package one of the ornaments was broken, I called the number on my receipt and they sent me a new one free of charge, talk about good service!!!

I know when I bought a picture from the Art of Disney store, I had it shipped home. It was fantastically convenient. It's much more useful with large and/or fragile items, or items you don't want to take on a plane or stuff into a car. Not all that worth it if you're just buying T-shirts and such, unless you have absolutely no more room to pack stuff.

on our honeymoon we purchased the lennox mickey/minnie wedding figurine, and a very large oogie boogie wdcc figure from the art of disney store. they shipped it home for us for a pretty reasonable amount, and it came 2 days after we returned home :) just be sure to tell the cashier before they start ringing up your purchase, theres paperwork to be filled out before they can start the purchase. same way when having things sent to your room, they seem to get a little frustrated if you happen to forget, they have to redo the whole transaction. :hammer:

when we went years ago my mom bought my sister this wedding minnie and mickey snowglobe and had it sent back to michigan so it wouldnt get smashed up on the plane. it made it back in one piece. i should have done that with a picture frame i bought because the glass broke in the front of it in my luggage, that was a nasty mess to clean up.
