She's Pregnant!

Ok - so my wife and I had planned on waiting until after our childless trip to Disney World to get pregnant. But, I am sure that many of you know how that goes. So, here we are - we have been planning our trip for months and our reservations are for May 17-25. We had originally planned to go commando style, doing all the parks including the water parks and Pleasure Island type stuff. but, she is having all that usual morning sickness and fatigue. We are not sure whether to cancel the trip entirely - or go and take it easy. Any thoughts?

Oh - and by the way, I have never been to Disney, hence the name.

I had a very severe case of morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidum, which basically means when I was pregnant I could not even function because I was so sick. However, I still went to Disneyworld in the middle of all that at 14 weeks and ended up feeling 100% fine the whole trip! I got back home from Disney and was extremely sick again. So there's just something about Disney that made me feel so much better. I'd say go ahead with the trip!

First of all, congratulations on your good news!!! :sohappy:

Second, here's another vote for NOT cancelling that trip! I'm very sympathetic about morning sickness, because I had it all day, every day, for both of my pregnancies, but I'm willing to bet that your wife will feel better if she doesn't miss this trip. Plus, you may not have another chance right away to visit WDW once your little one arrives - so go for it!

I'd break that 12-hour car trip into two shorter stretches. I spend a LOT of time in the bathroom during those early months, and your wife may need more frequent rest stops as well. ;)

Have fun!

I'm going to have to look that up when I get home this afternoon. I was so sick the first five months, missed alot of work the first four months, and never went more than five days (after that) without :hurl: . My doctor said nothing was wrong based on the fact that I still gained some weight despite that. I'm so glad I read this thread and thanks Laura, for posting that.
Back to the thread.........Time in Disney with morning sickness is better than no Disney at all. Start packing :)

I say go! I was 7 months PG the last time we went to Disney and it was so worth it. We did a 18 hour car ride and had our DD with us too- it was so worth it to go!!

I have to agree that Disney is different when t is just the adults and then when you have kids- but both are good!

Have a great time and Congrats!!
