Shareholders Meeting 2016

This concerns me. Why would he deflect it and not just answer that it isn't in the budget for this year but they are looking into it. I hate that my favorite park of all the parks all over the world is becoming the MGM Studios of Disney Parks (Yes I meant MGM Studios as a reference to a park that wasn't completely thought through which is how I compare that to Eisner's redo of Epcot)
I believe he said that they are looking at long range plans for Epcot. Now take that with a grain of salt because "long range" could also mean "not in your lifetime."

And nobody ever asks about Disco Yeti at these meetings. That alone would make Iger look like the soulless cheapwad he really is. Maybe I should buy some more Disney stock and attend the NEXT meeting. There WOULD be bloodshed...(figuratively).

I took an interest in the comment about how they do not plan to expand the magic band capabilities. While in general, i'm not a fan of them (hate FP+), but i can see the potential in geolocation and guest recognition opportunities.

Without enhancing these, what do we really have? $2 billion worth of resort door keys?

I'm the one who asked that question at the meeting, and he did not say that they were not ever expanding the capabilities of the system. What he said is that as they look to expand the system to other properties and locations, that it may not always be tied to a Magic Band in those areas. It might, but depending on how technology evolves and with opportunities for personal devices and other enablers, they're open to other ways of handling it. The underlying system isn't going anywhere.

BTW, been quite occupied today and unable to follow the meeting, but did anyone actually give Bob and Co a hard time? Anyone? About anything beyond typical fan stupid stuff?

Why would they. Stock has more than doubled since he took over. Frozen 2 is about to come out. More SW movies in the queue, Avatar soon to open, SWL after that, DS taking shape, talk of an Indy reboot. As someone who got in - in the low 30's -- once they announced he was taking the reigns, back in March of '05 ......no complaints....none whatsoever. As an AP and frequent visitor - sure things could always be better - But they are good enough.

P.S. Edited to say..I'd like Mr Toad's and 20,000 leagues back just like everybody else..heck throw in Skyway to Tomorrowland as well...but as an investor, I'd prefer a world where my son and daughter can stay at the WL Villas and then go ride Winnie the Pooh and SDMT.

Wait, so there wasn't an Imagination or Song of the South question? What kind of shareholder meeting was this??? ;)
The person who would ask him about Figment and the Dreamfinder passed away earlier this year. It's been a few years since someone had asked about The Song of the South. I was surprised the displaced Disneyland pin trader from the past two years didn't make an appearance this year.

Or Dolphin guy? Do you remember the guy from a year or two back asking about university of Florida marine biology research?

Yasssss!! I do remember him, as well as that cast member from the Disneyland Hotel who would come for several years to fight for fair wages. The problem with most questions that people ask is they ask them in the way where they can get the canned response. For example, one year someone asked instead of Avatar why don't they expand Star Wars in the parks, in which Iger replied, we did. We just updated Star Tours. This year someone asked how come Epcot isn't getting any expansions in which he replied it is. We're adding Frozen and a new Soarin' experience. A piece of advice on anyone who ever plans on attending a shareholder's meeting and wants to ask a question or raise a concern look at the issue you're bringing up, anticipate all possible outcomes of answers, and tailor your question to get the answer you're looking for. Oh and keep it concise.
