Shampoo and such

In a recent thread I was reading about what people do with the shampoo, lotion, ect. provided by the hotels. Some people donate theirs, others list them on ebay. What do you do with yours?

Also, I would have expected a better quality of shampoo, ect. at the Disney hotels than what you get. Some hotels in the country, like the W, charge about the same prices or less and have designer bath products. Disney seems to skimp on that a bit. Just my opinion

I could honestly see it, though. Let's say the room could come with a family assortment of bath products... little bottles of Johnson & Johnson baby bath and shampoo... little bottles of Pantene shampoo and conditioner... a Dial hand washing bar... an Aveno facial cleansing bar... a Zest body bar...

Yes. I am fantasizing here, but the concept makes sense! It would be something nice for the whole family!

I like that! That would be an extra perk in the room to help you relax on your vacation to have better brands waiting for you. Nothing big and expensive, trial sizes would work for me.

Yes, yes I would. Suave tests on animals last I heard. As I stated before, I bring my own stuff.

Intresting. I've never heard that before. I checked on all of my bottles of Suave items and couldn't find any information to back you up or prove you wrong, but I would love to know the truth!

Usually when it is not tested on animals is when you see something printed on the label.

Nope. With some products like shampoo and hair spray, they put it in the eyes of rabbits. Rabbits do not have tear ducts, hence they get to measure the burn factor.
They pour it down animal's throats to test the toxic value. They do all sorts of horrible things to test products for humans to use.
They pour bleach and drain cleaners down dog's throats.

Aveda makes no claim that they do not test on animals. Like I said, most of the companies that do not test make that claim on the website and on their products. This would be interesting to find out.

Aveda is listed on the PETA list of companies who do not use animal testing.

When I was there in Sept. the soap was not stamped "Ivory" but, it sure smelled like it, and my hands broke out in blotches.

I don't know if Disney uses Ivory or not, but I use Ivory on a daily basis. To me, Disney's soap maybe similar to Ivory, but it seems a bit stronger on the perfume than regular Ivory.

And to whoever might have mentioned it, when I need a quick reminder of WDW, I do pull out some of the soap and shampoo which have been acquired from Disney. The scents alone can make me feel like I'm getting ready to head to the parks.

They changed the soap at DVC and it has no scent per se, just like Ivory. Causes the same reaction on me as Ivory does. Maybe just DVC changed to Ivory and the other resorts get the good stuff. Who knows?

What are you talking about?!?!?!?!?!? There are hundreds of companies that do not test on animals, and I would much rather see them test on a human than a helpless animal.

At least the human would know what they were getting into and would know the pain they would have to endure. The animals are forced to do this and in turn do not understand why they are being punished and put in such terrible pain. I think its the most cruel thing anyone could ever do. Its a superiority complex, the thought that we are superior to these lesser animals so we can do whatever we want to them in the name of science. That is just sickening.

Yeah! We could use prisoners with life sentences or on death row to test. Atleast the tax payers money would go to good use I'm kidding, we would of course ask them first and keep them well compensated for being our test subjects.:lol: lol
