my buddy ben (not a pet, lol) just called me from the line and said that they were about the go in. he is going to call me and let me know what he thought.

the poor sap never got to ride AE, so he doesnt have that much to compare to, so it will be nice to hear his opinion.

he also said that today was not crowded, so if you are in the orlando area, ditch work for me and go have fun.

When you say "soft open", is this similar to when a store is open for regular business the days / weeks before the "Grand Opening"? I know that they are doing some rides and testing now and then will have the special access at the beginning of November, but we will be there the week before the "Grand Opening" and wonder if this might be the case, especially since the opening date is a Tuesday.

Thanks.

So today was the third new attraction in a row that I've been on BEFORE Cast previews. (The others being Mission: Space and Philharmagic.) Stitch opened at 9:30-ish this morning, so I got on before the crowds arrived. Stitch looked awesome, chili dogs are now funny, and S.I.R. hasn't been keeping up with his exercise regimen. Otherwise the details are a little foggy, as I have a cold and was drowsy frrom meds all day. Also there were delays outside and in the main show. Otherwise we cycled through pretty fast. And I hope the exit doors get fixed- they wouldn't stay open during the show dump! :brick:

Yup, soft open is when the attraction operates before the grand opening. It's often used to work the kinks out of the operation of the attraction, and to do some last minute adjustments. As for the week before grand opening, I'm not too sure of the proceedures. They'll probably be doing previews for the press and dignitaries within the company over that week, since the kinks will have mostly been worked out during soft open. There's still a great chance that you'll be able to see it. Good luck, and enjoy your trip!
