On another Disney group, someone reported that the Seven Dwarfs Mine store (in Fantasyland, on the corner next to the Snow White ride) is closing in October for good. Supposedly to be converted into an "outdoor foods" location though there is no date when that would actually happen.

Anyone heard about this?

That figures. My little one loved filling the little pouch with pretty rocks that the 7 Dwarves had mined. We seen stands like that in (gasp ) other places, but she won't budge. She only wants the ones from the Dwarves !

Much like Main Street, one more specially themed shop might bite the dust. Didn't someone else say the Western Merchantile in Frontierland was becoming a pin trader ?

yeah, rosebud's mom. You've bought your last frontier rifle and Davy Crockett raccoon cap from the Frontierland Traders. Nowadays, its PIN CITY!

Outdoor foods?? Don't we have Ms. Potts's Cupboard and Lumiere's Kitchen right next door?
Lumiere's closed I don't know how long ago (it's there but all the windows are boarded over), but Ms. Potts is still there (they have yummy Strawberry Shortcakes).

Not becoming, became. It's already done. I walked through it when I was there in July.

(The kitchen stuff that was there is over in the store - "Yankee Trader" on the coner by HM which used to have Villian and HM stuff. The HM cart also moved from the HM exit over by the Liberty Boat entrence.)

So it seems like a lot of the speciality places, yeah, are being changed. It's weird. And it stinks.

From my last visit, Lumiere's looked like it could easilly be re-opened. It was being used as a quick service food location when I was there last. Nothing much, it was about the same as an outdoor food cart. Only one window was open and you could see that all the kitchen stuff was still in tact.

I use to work at both Potts and Lumier's and am still very close with the managers that run this department. I highly doubt this would happen. Lumier's was shut down because there was too much food in that area to begin with. Within a very short distance there is Potts, Scuttles, the pretzel Wagon, Pinocchio's Village house, as well as the largest fast food restaurant in world Cosmic Rays and lets not forget about the ODF carts scattered throughout. As it is now Lumier's is simply being used to cook the pretzels for the pretzel wagon. They only recently re-opened it on a Very limited basis as a trial. So as of now I am very confident the Mine Store is safe for now. But if I hear otherwise I will let everyone know.
