...especially if the bloated management levels and engineers can't predict what sort of foundation will be able to support the forces produced when the animatronic moves. ;)

The foundation is not what's wrong win the yeti like originally thought it's a lubrication problem.

From what I take of these announcements, the track/ ride vehicles are going to be similar to if not the same as Dinosaur or Indy at DL?

The track is just track.
The cars are the special element, with the ability to sway/swing as the train goes through turns.

Lee, is the ride going to rely on gravity for momentum or is it going to use some other means such as strategically placed LIMs for propulsion throughout the ride?

My understanding is that they'll be coaster cars on a pivot that allows them to sway.

Someone with more info may be able to confirm or deny the rest of this, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is a restriction placed on how much they can sway, nor would I be surprised if there were areas where the vehicles would be locked in position and not allowed to sway (similar to how the Primeval Whirl vehicles can spin in some portions of the ride and then are locked from spinning in other portions).

I don't think so... this is technology like we've never seen before they said... so being that Indy has been out for years, it's got to be totally different. Plus ready Lee's comments just above...

Yeah, it sounded like a much smoother wild mouse on steroids.

As far as the AA's are concerned, as long as they aren't made of cardboard and improved with blacklights I will be a happy camper. Disney has been on a roll with the under 6' tall AA's.

Over 6' tall...welllll:hammer:

From the description of the ride, I am betting on a system similar to the one used on Revenge of the Mummy by premier rides. They use linear induction motors (magnetic propulsion) to achieve different rates of speed on different sections of track. So the cars can slow down, speed up, or stop based on the programming. Pretty cool really and no chain lift required. Disney likes to tinker with different technologies and create unique experiences so imagine rocking cars on a system like that. The cars could slow down by the animated scenes and smoothly speed up when necessary. Intamin uses similar technology. WDW has it on R&RC and the People Mover to name a couple of places. Busch Gardens has it on Cheetah Run. It's really amazing.

Kings Island and Kings Dominion have stunt coasters that use it in the manner that I was thinking about. The little coasters start up, slow down, and stop at animated displays. The down side is that it is subject to frequent breakdowns, but maybe WDW has a solve for that.

There was a press announcement about it at the toon town railroad station. And they said it's going to be in between barnstormer and big thunder with two chain lifts. So take that however you want. That was months ago and they haven't even started construction, so that might have changed by now.

What? No, not at all.

Couple chain lifts I think.

Yep.
