Seuss Landing sky attraction?

The attraction was designed to be operated, but due to the above mentioned saftey concerns, the ride never opened. It's really a shame though, after all the queue, exit ramps, gift shop, and station are still there. And although it is used for storage and Grinchmas events it would still be a fun addition and a nice break in the day.

It is now just really expensive theming.

ride?

I asked them about it also. They first said the cars on the track were having too many safety issues. If you look up on the left when you cross the bridge entering into Seuss Land you can see the queue on the second floor of the gift shop. Hopefully they can open the attraction. It looks like fun.

So if it isnt going to open, why is there so much work going on around there right now?

General upkeep? They do run the ride for display purposes.

OR

They'll be using the space for possible Halloween Horror Nights/Grinchmas purposes.

Wait for it to rain - any decoration vehicle going around will get stuck on a hill.

The design is flawed, and it needs major work to open.

The 9/23/2005 update at www.screamscape.com discussed rumors that Universal may be working on a project to "take over" the Sylvester McMonkey McBean's Unusual Flying Machines with the project to be completed by Summer 2006.

Damn, beat me too it! Anyways, I haven't heard anything of this until just now... I'll ask some friends in the next couple of days to see what they've heard too... but my guess is not a ride but maybe a walkthrough exhibit?? I mean, they've only got like 9 months... can't make a new ride that fast...

The company has sent out a memo to team members that a new "aerial attraction" will be opening at Seuss Landing in 2006. We assume that the flying machines will finally be opening but at this point that's just an educated guess. All any of us on the ground know for sure is that the "Grinch's Lair" will be closed this Christmas (the Grinch and Max will hold court in various locations in SL).

Hope this is true, I've been hearing more rumors about this lately. I've been waiting 5 years to ride this thing, every time I go I wonder when are they going to do something about this thing. I guess time will tell.

The new ride has been confirmed by nearly every Universal cast member and the memo sent is legit. The only thing we don't know at this point is how much of the original driving machines concept will remain and how much will be "re-imagined." It is also rumored that the ride will be announced later this year along with the "Jurassic Park 2007 Attraction" that is also pretty much confirmed at this point. All we have to do now is wait.

Do you know which site they're using for the JP attraction? It is going to be an 'e-ticket' attraction correct? So it can't go in Triceratops Trail and all... either between LC and JP or Toon and JP by Thunder Falls... hmm...
