Is this worth the 100 dollars that I'm going to spend? It's me and my girlfriend (college students).

Overall, is it a great experience, or is more kid-oriented and we won't have as much fun?

Used to be worth it for a lovely, romantic dinner. Used to also only be around $20-28 a person instead of this $40 a person crap.

It's completely and utterly no longer worth it in my book. Which is a total shame.

Is any meal worth $40? I feel like you could do just as well over at World Showcase, have better food, and pay something more on a college student budget.

I totally agree. We had never been to CRT until our trip last September for lunch. I'm very glad we got it in before they made the big changes, 'cause I'm not sure we would ever go now.

Nope!

$100 can buy you 10 meals at other locations while you are there, or some cool souvenirs during your trip.

Save your money unless you REALLY need your meal interrupted by princesses and screaming kids.

I'll be the one with the $100 bill at the Main Street Bakery! :slurp:

See ya there!

These are all interesting opinions, but has anyone actually been to an evening meal at Cinderella's Royal Table since things changed this month?

The most recent review is from September of 05, so not too much help there in terms of the new program.

A person can certainly pay more than $40 for a meal, at Walt Disney World or elsewhere. I won't tell you how much I paid at dinner last Saturday night, but it was more than $40 and I didn't have a view over Fantasyland. When single day admission tickets were raised to $26, there were people who said they would never go back. That didn't exactly work out. :D

You know, sometimes park hopping over to EPCOT's World Showcase is not an option. It would be good to know from the perspective of someone who has gone whether the Magic Kingdom's showcase restaurant is worth the cost for an evening meal.

While pizza and hamburgers are good for many, some people want a more fine dining experience. Will it be ruined by children? I have never dined at the castle without children being all around. It is in the Magic Kingdom, for crying out loud!

I will eat there this Sunday night and promise to let you all know my honest assessment when it is done. Promise!

You need to think of what it's worth to each of you first. Is it worth YOUR $100, definitely not! But I do believe, that to her, if neither of you have ever eaten there before and this is your first time at Disney World together, it's worth it! If you've already made the ADR and she knows about it, there's no backing out now or you'll be on her bad side the entire time if you cancel.

I've been twice, once on our honeymoon and once on our first anniversary, and while the food is pretty good and the atmosphere is unlike anywhere else, I didn't feel it was worth all the money, and the price has gone up even more since then. In addition, you have to pay up front, which is why I'm not going on my next trip.

As for the experience itself, I think it can be great for kids and adults alike. The servers will call you lord and lady and do a great job of staying in character and treating you great. Definitely try the birch beer if you've never had it, great stuff!

If you think you're going to marry this girl and really want to show her something special, take her there, if not, the Liberty Tree Tavern is a tasty and much cheaper alternative.

I have to agree with this poster. Is the dinner worth $100; no. Is a hotel room generally worth $200-500/night? No.

Is a hotel room at Disney worth $200-500/night? My answer is Yes.

Is dinner at Cinderella's castle with the Princess worth $100? Yes, because my wife's eyes light up at the thought of eating here.

If your girlfriend is inclined towards fairy tales, crowns and castles and you are serious about this relationship then you are paying a measly $100 to put a smile on her face that you will NEVER forget. (and if your like me and already married you generally get a few get out of jail cards for it; and I need those!)

This is all fine and dandy, but being a college student, I know that $100/meal is pretty freaking expensive and most girls will be happy about a nice dinner everywhere, and I don't really thing the screaming kids you get at the Magic Kingdom provide for the most romantic meal possible. World Showcase restaurants are far more romantic in terms of atmosphere, and the food is better. It's a no-brainer for me. Bring the kids to CRT and the girlfriend to Epcot. Epcot is more adult-oriented and so are its dining facilities.

As for a Princess meal like someone else said that is only for breakfast and lunch. For Dinner it's Suzy and Perla and the Fairy Godmother but it's more of a show. I have been talking to a close friend of Perla online ( She posts on another Disney message board that I post on and she remembers seeing me on New Year's day when I got picture's taken with Perla and Suzy at the Magic Kingdom ) She said for Dinner the characters do come by your table just its really quick like they just sorta wave at you and go. But Dinner is more high priced.

You could try one of the eating places at Grand Floridian Hotel. That might be a nice place to take your girlfriend and others. You may like the 1900 Park Fair. I Love the 1900 Park Fair. Suzy and Perla are at the 1900 Park Fair so I eat there all the time and I am very well known by the cast members over at 1900 Park Fair, ha ha I have a way of standing out :p Suzy talked into the ears of a cast member and that cast member used a camera that was not mine to take a photo of me with Suzy and Perla. Suzy and Perla where so happy to have such a big fan that they wanted to have a picture that they could keep. I did not expect that. It's usually me who gets a picture taken with Suzy and Perla and I keep the picture but this time Suzy and Perla got a picture taken with me so they could have the picture :)

Now anyways you might like some of the eating places at Grand Floridian. Some are very high priced but 1900 Park Fair is less than Cinderelly Castle. Also if you don't want a character meal and just want to eat at a nice place that would cost you even less I would look into the Grand Floridian Cafe. I ate there with my dad ( I am talking about my human father not the skunk lol ) and it was very nice and are meal came to around $15 each including drinks. Here is a link to all the eating places at the Grand Floridian some of them are a lot more higher priced than Cinderelly's Castle but others are way less.
