September or December?

Need some disney advice. We only visit WDW in January and by only I mean in 20+ years of annual visits we've been only twice at different times of the year. DH and I can't wait till January 14 so we want to move up our next trip.

The options are mid September or first week of December. I'd rather go in September but DH is concerned about taking DD who's 4 out of preschool for a week. He wants to see the Xmas decorations in December but I feel it's too close to our usual trip time so what's the benefit. Plus i'm wondering if it'll be more crowded.

Our biggest concerns are that we go at an off peak time for low crowds and that it not be awful temperature wise. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

I think a child can miss a week of preschool and still get into kindergarten! What do they do? Play, nap, learn colors, read books...nothing most parents aren't doing, anyway. It's not like she's missing trig. :)

Either way will be fine, IMO.

December will be cooler than August, for sure! :)
All true RE preschool - I can imagine myself as a mom battling a 6th grade teacher about a missed week of school. My parents pulled my sister and I out each week in January straight thru High School. And we turned out just fine.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions! I'm leaning way more towards December now that enough people have reinforced the muggy weather in September. As an edit to my first post we would have taken DD out of school regardless of the month. We did it this school year twice - Atlantis in October and WDW in January. This kid's a big traveler! DH was just feeling bad if we took her out as soon as she started back.

I just wish the discounts were out for December or I had gotten one of those PIN#s I saw on another post for free dining.

But a huge thanks for all the posts!

First week of December won't be crowded except for MK on MVMCP weekends. Be mindful of early closings for the party too. As for September, you will run into the same issue with MNSSHP weekends but also, free dining guests as well as it is the rainy season. I would choose December. :)

We have done both times of year, and both have the same crowds basicly. Sept is very hot and no rain. December is hit or miss, we always go around the 14, have had80 degre weather and 25 degre weather. We will take the sept weather and halloween for the kids, if just us two adults, we will flip flop the months because of the decorations and the fact that we can deal with the weather, where as kids have to do the psrks, shows, and evrything in between. With a 4 year old, I would try december just for all the lights and decorations, plus usually decent weather, not the hot and cranky type. Been there and done that with kids. So my answer is early dec.
